In reply to: Hacked? Triangular yellow icons showing up on clickable buttonsThe site was hacked. Continuing logins resulted in more and more of the danger icons showing up. They were printing themselves over images in the blogs.
I reinstalled WordPress but left the database alone. Everything seemed ok but I noticed images missing from the posts. Next I reinstalled WordPress and cleared the database. This time when I logged into the dashboard the incoming link section is filled with porn and other spam links.
What do I do about that? Do I need to do anything about that? All the forums posts I read make it sound like the trackbacks and pingbacks do nothing.
My problem is that my webhost is complaining about CPU load use. I am thinking all those incoming links to spam sites must have something to do with it. Am I wrong?
Any suggestions? I need some information quick because the webhost is going to shut the blog down.

In reply to: Are all images for a blog really dumped in one folder?I may not understand the gallery concept. It looks like maybe it separates images in a way I can work with. I need to experiment more.
Thanks for connecting the gallery concept to individual posts.

In reply to: Are all images for a blog really dumped in one folder?OH. MY. GOD.
How can WordPress be top rated with such undeveloped image handling functions?
Every post in my blog has…..8 pictures at least. One month = 30 days. That is 8 X 30 = 240 images per month. All dumped into one big folder that has to be searched through to find the image that belongs with a post?
I guess this software is geared more towards writing only with a picture in 1 post per week huh?
