• Plugin doesn’t work. I think there is something wrong with the download, as the author says it should be 20mb, but it is only 17mb.

When you try to create a new voucher, it can’t find any templates (although I can see the folder is there via ftp) and will not allow you to create new templates. Also, it will not let you save the voucher you create, and PREVIEW gives you a PDF with an error message!

Plugin author please address these issues! This plugin is a GREAT idea and when working smoothly would be very useful to me and the clients I design sites for!

    Thank you,
    Jennifer

  • I’ll look, into this and the other errors reported as soon as I can.

Can you upgrade to the latest version of the plugin (version 0.7) and tell me if you still get these problems. Also it would be very useful if you could copy and paste here any error messages you get on the page or in PDFs.

I am having similar problems. Using most current vers of plugin (downloaded today) and WP 2.9.2

short code only seems to work if I have require email address set to no
resulting downloaded file would not open in Acrobat Reader or Preview
“Adobe Reader could not open ’15-gift-certificate.pdf’ because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn’t correctly decoded).”
Only way to test with require email was to use link and that never asked for email before returning an error of “Sorry that item has run out”

Very excited about this plug in – will certainly donate if can get it to work!

    Hi Phil,

    > short code only seems to work if I have require email address set to no

Can you check the voucher is set to “Live” and are not expired, as the shortcodes just look at the expiry date and “live” setting. If you’re using WordPress MU please be aware that the shortcodes will only show vouchers for the blog you are on.

    > “Adobe Reader could not open ’15-gift-certificate.pdf’ because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn’t correctly decoded).”

Can you provide me with a URL to download the voucher for myself.

    > Only way to test with require email was to use link and that never asked for email before returning an error of “Sorry that item has run out”

Again, if you can provide me with a URL I’ll try it myself. I guess that the number of available vouchers was set OK.

Well – it seems that after reactivating the page the short code for both previews is working now. But still can’t get the email requirement to work. Get error saying “Sorry, that item was not found” with # of vouchers left blank and
“Sorry, that item has run out” with # of vouchers set to 500.
Expiration date is blank for infinite life. There is a check box for “Voucher Available” is that what you mean by “live setting”? it is checked.

    Thanks for your help!

Right, it does look like there’s a problem. I’ll investigate this a soon a I can.

These problems have been fixed in the latest version. Please upgrade.

    WP Version: 2.9.2
    Using Plugin Version: 0.8.4

    Hey MrWiblog,
I’m working on a restaurant site and I want your use your plugin. I’m private wordpress plugin / theme function developer. I need a system similar to yours but when I loaded it into my sandbox (WP_DEBUG: true) I was flooded with errors. Mostly undefined variables that can be fixed by changing from $var != "" to isset($var). I want to help this plugin evolve. So regardless I’ll be working with it for the site but if you want to share notes and get this plugin to something that reflects a release candidate and not a alpha build, email me via my tech blog.

    Thanks for the head start,
    MNSweet

Thanks for reporting the warnings that you saw. As you’ll appreciate, these don’t show up in a standard installation of WordPress, only when you have turned on debugging (which is a VERY bad idea for live sites). Still, I’ll look at cleaning up some of these warnings when I get time.

i add the short codes the wordpress pages and nothing shows, it’s just a blank page, how do i get it to show. i am runnin wordpress 3.0.1

I’m having this exact same problem. Was there ever any resolution?

Can you upgrade to the latest version of the plugin (version 0.7) and tell me if you still get these problems. Also it would be very useful if you could copy and paste here any error messages you get on the page or in PDFs.

I’m using 1.0 with WP 3.01. The pdf that oipens doesn’t have the voucher information I added to my voucher and the error it gives when the pdf opens is this:

Adobe Reader could not open ‘test-voucher-1.pdf’ because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged(for example, it was sent as an email attachement and wasn’t correctly decoded).

everything is working fine, just on question, how can i change the from email

You can use another plugin for this. Here’s the one that was top of Google for “wordpress plugin change default from address”:

    https://www.samburdge.co.uk/wordpress/wordpress-change-default-email-address-plugin

Yep, same here, running 3.01 and version 1.1, the PDF file is always corrupted.
