in the nexgen gallery widget option: “Select” “Only which are listed” does this serve any purpose to this plugin.
It’s randomly selecting images instead of using the ID # I specify. I’m also using Widget Context to have that widget point to a certain page.
so what, do you have to store the galleries inside of albums? I have four galleries built and am trying to display each gallery on a page but it’s not showing the proper images that are within the gallery. I’m using the NextGen widget for displaying on the right sidebar. I can’t tell if I’m building the galleries/albums wrong or if there’s a glitch. It’s really starting to peeve me off as I’ve been screwing with it for 4 hours.
who developed this POS? If your’e going to develop plugin’s it might help that they work..

In reply to: log-in to dashboard php errorI’ve already tried overwriting the wp-admin.php file and the pluggable.php file with a new one from WordPress download. I have also tried renaming plugins folder to see if it was a plugin issue but this did not work either.

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGen Gallery] Linking to a PageI’m not sure then if it is a function of the plugin but is not working. Did you visit the plugins authors website? I would see if they have a forum. Maybe the gallery plugin you’re using is compatible with the Version of WordPress you have. I run into compatability issues alot.

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGen Gallery] Linking to a PageI don’t know if I’m taking you in the right direction, but do you need an additional plugin, say, Page Links To plugin.
If I’m reading your post right, you want to click on a gallery, redirect to a different page you have set up?
I did the rename plugins folder work around and it deactivated all plugins then updated to 2.8.1 WP, activated plugins and it all works. For a detailed list on how to do this workaround if you can’t auto update or see your plugins follow these steps, taken directly from WP troubleshooting site.
How to deactivate all plugins when not able to access the administrative menus?
Sometimes it may be necessary to deactivate all plugins, but you can’t access the administrative menus to do so. One of two methods are available to deactivate all plugins.Use phpMyAdmin
In the table wp_options, under the option_name column (field) find the active_plugins row
Change the option_value field to: a:0:{}
orCreate an empty plugins folder
Via FTP or your host’s control panel, navigate to the wp-contents folder (directory)
Via FTP or your host’s control panel, rename the folder “plugins” to “plugins.hold”
Via FTP or your host’s control panel, create new folder called “plugins”
Login to your WordPress administration menus
Via FTP or your host’s control panel, delete the empty “plugins” you previous created
Via FTP or your host’s control panel, rename “plugins.hold” back to “plugins”Is there not anybody out there that would have an answer to this problem. My guess is that it’s a plugin, but I can’t get to them via dashboard so I can’t start de-activating them. Should I start deleting them off the server?
Sort of…
I have been on 2.8 for as long as it’s been out. Haven’t had any problems with auto updating plugins or actually being able to see the list of plugins on the dashboard. I was going to upgrade to WP 2.8.1 but can’t do it auto and now can’t deactivate plugin’s for a manual install and I have no idea why? I haven’t done anything with the site except for posts, actually I might have auto updated a plugin or two in the last month.
IT’S TIME FOR ALL THE WORDPRESS GURU’S TO STEP UP!!
correction on title: Cannot auto update to 2.8.1 & cannot view plugins to de-activate for manual install.

In reply to: 2.8.1 breaking Plugins, Incoming links and WP blog on DashboardThanks Samboll,
I will see if this works and post back.
Appreciate the help, is this a bug in 2.8.1, I kind of took it as that since even the WP development blog was getting errors.
