I’ve been using it for several years in several places and modes, and not had any issues, apart from this one where the excerpts are lost

Great! That works for me for searches and RSS feeds.

However inside Content Views, when showing the excerpt, the HTML snippet is still missing. Perhaps something else is needed to activate it? Not a huge issue, but would be good to know how to make it work everywhere.

The issue remains: html shortcodes don’t show in excerpts, and therefore also don’t show in searches

Thanks for you help… yes it magically started working again after I posted here! Like the issue with photon cached images last week – same story, though that wasn’t working right for several days.
Just random stuff going wrong with Jetpack features since around the time WP6 released, though I haven’t updated to 6 yet (always wait a few weeks to reduce the number of unknowns). Odd stuff going on atm, been fine for years before this.

I had this issue last week (in UK). I posted issue here after a few days of messing about trying to find the problem, and then they started to come back. No explanation, sorry.

I have a similar and very strange issue:
Since the introduction of the “right to left” option, I am seeing numbers in an HTML caption get popped onto the end of the string in L->R mode. Revert back to default R->L scrolling, and the number goes back to where it should be.

I have addresses in the caption, “20 St James Street” gets shown as “St James Street 20”. Very odd. It’s repeatable / reversible.

Confirmed that a) Updraft+ backs up if I disable Simple Calendar, b) that last 2 versions, going back to 1.16.43 also fail. Trouble is from Simple Calendar (though itself working fine). As others mentioned, I don’t think Updraft+ should have dependency on SC.

We also have this problem, we have Simple Calendar, not SEOPress
Google Drive: id_from_path failure: exception (Google\Exception): Do not know how to execute this type of object. (line: 594, file: /home…/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/Google/Client.php)

File ref’d is dated 6th January after which backups started failing.

Metoo. 5.6 trashed my site.

Worse, my Google Drive restore keeps timing out, I know this because I get warnings that the restore file size is different (plugins dir is the main problem, only 70MB, uploads is much bigger) and each time I restore it’s a different size (fails at a different point). Manually copying the files to the updraft directory works OK, albeit takes forever of course. But then, despite all looking OK, still on 5.6, as OP reports.

Is there at least a variable to set the Google Drive timeout ? My webserver is Litespeed, but never had issues before, on either backups or restores.

PS I used the downgrade WP plugins to reinstall 5.5.3, then restored just the database again, now OK. But would appreciate a fix for Google Drive
