What have you tried in the shortcode? It might be finicky:

[testimonial_rotator shuffle=”0″]
[testimonial_rotator shuffle=”false”]
[testimonial_rotator shuffle=”STOP!!!!!”]

Have you experimented with the img_size attribute?

There is already a setting to turn off FontAwesome. With some CSS you can then change out the arrows to whatever else you want.

The settings are in the admin under ‘Testimonials -> Settings’

This field is used in the hReview schema for the item element. More about that element can be found here: https://microformats.org/wiki/hreview

If you want to change the name of the testimonials archive page you can do that here: https://halgatewood.com/docs/plugins/testimonial-rotator/change-testimonials-slug

This will free up that url slug so you can create a custom page as you need.

Can you make a test page with the problem on it? I can then see if there are any errors on the page.

How are you displaying the rotator?

Also make sure on the testimonial edit page that you have assigned the testimonial to a rotator.
