In reply to: Crashed site since upgrading to latest versionI’m not sure I know that – where will I find it? I thought that might be the ‘wp_xx’ bit.

In reply to: Crashed site since upgrading to latest versionI also have an old website https://citywomen.co.uk/wp2016/ which I kept to “play” with so that I could test out new themes and stuff on that. I that’s not working either and I’ve renamed the Plugins Folder so that they’re not being picked up.

In reply to: Crashed site since upgrading to latest versionI’m not sure what you mean.
The citywomen config file was simply ‘wp_ ‘ and the others are wp_flaward etc. I’ve tried it with ‘wp_ ‘ and ‘wp_admin’
The database is called citywomenns
Not having touched these websites since 2020 isn’t helping. I used to work on the main one on a daily basis.
Maybe you’d like to give me a fee for sorting this! I don’t like to give up but in the past I’ve pulled a whole-nighter fiddling with wordpress!

In reply to: Crashed site since upgrading to latest versionYou’re a gem. The fl-award site is fully functional now. I’ve been messing with that this afternoon.
I don’t think I’m using Multi-Site. I’ve installed WP into separate folders and the wp-config files are linked to the main database

The main citywomen.co.uk was working until a couple of days ago. The woa one hasn’t been functioning for a while (Toolbar Extras was causing the problem).
I find Jetpack is often the problem. I deleted it and re-installed into the fl-award site.
I’ll battle on, but truly very grateful.

In reply to: Crashed site since upgrading to latest versionThanks for speedy response, much appreciated. My relationship with Fasthosts is via a third party. I’ll try them, but they’re not experts either although I’ve hosted websites with them since the last century.
I have access to my C-panel so can try that.
The WordPress email I received said:
An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 97 of the file /home/domains/vol3/336/2808336/user/htdocs/woa-award/wp-content/plugins/toolbar-extras/includes/admin/tbex-addons.php.
Error message: Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is no longer supportedThis is why I deleted the Toolbar Extras plugin which is only on that sub-site. What I don’t quite understand is that https://www.citywomen.co.uk/fl-award is working as is https://www.citywomen.co.uk/project-diamond
I’ll keep playing. Having been in this situation before, I know how time consuming it can be!!!
Plugins are all updated (on the fl-award and project-diamond site). I think the theme for citywomen.co.uk is NewsPro. (It’s Metro Pro for project-diamond).
I think I updated the PlugIns before I updated to 6.3.2 on the main site. Until I did that it was OK. And, silly me, I didn’t do a back up at that stage, but I’ve changed nothing since the pandemic.
I love a problem!!!
YES!!!!!!
Brilliant, thank you. If I have similar problem with other sites, I’ll follow the same action.
Over and out on this one, Jeremy.
This is going to save me SOOOO much time.

Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Display WordPress PostsJeremy – you’re quite right, in the end I deactivated all Plugins including Jetpack and reactivated most except some of the very recently installed (eg Yoast Google Analytics and that was throwing error messages).
What I want to do is to
pull posts from all of the above sites into one another, in particular between and the citywomen ones. I have yet to migrate everything to a multi-site option and the Jetpack solution sounded a perfect work-around.I’m going to give the sites time to “settle” down again, my brain space to think again and I need to concentrate on my main business, then I’ll start again with the DisplayPosts wiget.
Fingers crossed I won’t need your support!
Thanks very much.

Finally – I’ve resolved most of my various issues. Don’t ask me how because I’ve fiddled so much but … …

In reply to: Issues with uploading and inserting images, jetpack maybeI know WPyogi!!!!
Trouble is, I run a business – doing the website is something I enjoy, almost recreation. I think the problems started when I started to use the advanced features of Jetpack. When I stuck to using it for stats only all was well.
I got excited with experimenting on my new site and started activating stuff on the other sites, too, so it’s a bit of a mess all round.
I’m in business meetings all day tomorrow so I’ll have to let it all rest. That might help, too!!!!!

In reply to: Issues with uploading and inserting images, jetpack maybeHey! Finally, I scrolled down to the bottom of the Jetpack page and pressed Debug. Got a whole heap of error messages so will contact Jetpack on that.

I’m coming round to the disabling/deactivating JetPack or maybe I need to re-install JetPack.
I think I have posted on JetPack!!!
No, I’ve not looked at the PHP.ini settings and to be honest wouldn’t know if they’re up to snuff with regard to the memory settings? Can you elaborate? No rush!
It’s 21.55 where I am and I’m about to call it a day!
Oh – and forgot to say that Jetpack installed but still not connecting. However, my hosting company moved my site to a new server this morning so the DNS has changed. Hoping it will all “fire up” once it picks up the new DNS.
In the end I keyed the error message into a search engine and that led me to the answer I needed.
Fingers crossed, Jetpack will connect tomorrow.

In reply to: New site Plugins will not downloadThanks for suggestions. Much appreciated.
As this was a new installation (latest version), I deleted all files and re-installed WP today. All Plugins now downloading and activating.
Phew!!! Relief.
