In reply to: Help linking 2nd Multisite to a purchased webdomain name?Hi Axel13, thanks for the reply its much appreciated.
Do you mean the MU Domain Mapping plugin?
Sadly I was unable to get his to work, because my blog is not located in the root folder, it’s in a /blog folder.
There is supposedly a patched plugin which can get around this problem although I didn’t fully test it:
https://patchlog.com/wordpress/multisite-in-subfolder/My solution however, was to set up a redirect on my domain hosting control panel to perform a frameredirect to my blog location.
So i chose to redirect (example)
https://www.mynewcooldomain.com
to the location of
https://www.mywebspace.com/blog/secondaryblogI tried it yesterday and its working fine now and was much easier than i expected.
I’m not sure if this is the proper solution but it seems to be working for me.
Thanks again for the reply though, i’m glad i remembered to come back and post the solution which I found to work for me.
Cheers

In reply to: Please Help, My wp-admin is deadHi tony, yes i was reading some of your posts yesterday when i was trying to understand why my blog was also showing a blank screen.
It does seem like its affecting quite a lot of people.
I guess the problem can arise from various factors (themes / plugins etc.)Its a bit strange, as its now happened to me twice (blank screen and unable to loging to admin page or view my blog) and the problem weirdly fixes itself after 10-12 hours.
Hope you have more luck after downgrading to 2.9.2, i’d definitely like to know what caused my blog to stop loading yesterday, but as i mentioned earlier its all working fine today.

In reply to: Please Help, My wp-admin is deadThis happened to me yesterday, I upgraded to 3.0 about two weeks ago, and yesterday i couldn’t login to my admin page (or view my blog). My server was fine, and i could login to my webspace and see that all the files were there. I just had a blank page when testing in multiple browsers. (my main domain sites were fine, but my wordpress blog would not show at all).
The problem lasted about 10 hours, although i logged in this morning and it was fine (no problems).
I had a similar thing happen about a month ago. I contacted my webhosting providers and they said it was a problem with my ISP.
Anyway, the problem returned yesterday and i thought i’d leave it overnight just to see if things worked the following day. I regularly backup my blog, php and xml databases, although i didn’t want to start reinstalling my blog, so i just left it overnight and it is fine this morning.
If anyone experiences similar problems like this in the future (blank admin page/blank blog), i would recommend leaving the blog overnight, and checking the following day. I’m not sure what caused my blog to fail, but as mentioned earlier, i left it overnight and it is working fine today, and it saved me a lot of unnecessary work in rebuilding the blog.
Hopefully this will help others who experience similar problems (blank admin screen and blank blog page).
I realise that this may not solve identical problems for other users, but its worth a try.
