Hi David,
I’m using the last snipped you’ve sent me above in the functions.phpBut then, when I have the “none” option set, I still mostly don’t get the error displayed and can just check out.
It seems to be the fist time it gets displayed, but then, if I change the shipping country back and forth, next time it does not get checked anymore.
Any ideas?
Thank you, this is great!!
Hi David,
I’ve updated and completed all German translations. It would be nice to be able to get an updated version during the day, thank you!
Best
GuntherI know that you think, you are finished, but this is still a big issue!
We are forced by law to make the prices transparent to the end user in the shop. Currently a virtual VAT calculated by the IP adress is being added but not explained on the product site. We cannot add a static text here anymore.
We’d need this additional Label near the price indicating that a certain VAT is included, like “23,23 € Incl. VAT (Germany)”
Thank you!
We are all working day and night to get this going and I appreciate your support. I hope we will be able to sort the last issues in time.
This works and is exactly how I would like it to be – BUT: when there is no contradictionary information and the radiobuttons are not being displayed, I always get the blocking message: “You must certify your country of residence in order to complete your order.”
Any ideas?Still, I’d like to hide this part completely and not display anything about VAT Number entering. I’d need an additional DIV to be able to properly hide that.
Currently it looks like this:
<div id="woocommerce_eu_vat_compliance">
-----<div id="B2BVAT>----
<h3>EU USt.-ID (falls vorhanden)</h3>
<p>
<small>Wenn Sie als Unternehmen Ihren Sitz in der EU haben, k?nnen Sie ihre USt.-ID unten eintragen.</small>
</p>
<p id="vat_number" class="form-row">This shop does not allow the entry of EU VAT numbers for VAT exemption.</p>
-----</div>----------
<p id="vat_self_certify_field" class="form-row update_totals_on_change address-field form-row-wide">Thank you very much. I’m still testing.
Currently my shop is configured to add a suffix (“incl. VAT”) after each price, to meet legal requirements.
Of course this label is static and doesn’t change, if someone from a 3rd party country gets the prices displayed without VAT.I’d like to remove that static label, but this would require your plugin to display the added VAT and Country dynamically under the price, like “(Incl. VAT (Germany)”. Displaying the country would be very important as well to avoid misunderstandings.
I will then add a sentence on each shop page telling the customer that prices/VAT are being calculated depending on their location and may be subject to change when they check out and provide their invoicing data.
How do I require a shipping address?

In reply to: [EU/UK VAT Compliance Assistant for WooCommerce] Sale with VAT number@gupa: That’s what David already added to the latest Premium version, just add the Reverse Charge information to the new “Invoice footer text (B2B)” text field.
Thank you for that solution, will try it after the next release.
I agree with you that there is no safe solution, if someone wants to cheat.
But the rules say that the customer has to provide the information where he resides, if the system defaults to it, it could be argued, that it’s not the customer that is providing it but the system making an assumption.Just saying: the Taxamo solution only offers one checkbox, where the customer has to actively select the country, otherwise he cannot check out! This makes sense to me. If any contradiction is being found, the default tax is being applied.
Multi currency is one thing, but for me it would be more relevant to show US customers the prices without VAT and the EU customers the prices including their individual VAT. The can all be in €. Displaying the end prices including the appropriate VAT is mandatory by law in the EU.
I’m only trying to help. I hope, you will still be able to implement it, I would like to avoid to have to mess with another plugin. It seems that the one you linked to will only use US$ as base currency as well…
You ask the user to confirm the country he is living in. But there is no action for him to be taken, since one of the radio buttons is checked by default. There is no plausibility check, if the information contradict – the plugin has to prevent that!
My suggestion was:
Add a “please confirm” radio button to the top that is checked by default and requires the user to take action and make a choice. Then add a plausibility check for the 2 evidences that are needed. If they don’t match, don’t let the user check out!Where can I download the new premium version? It’s not offering an auto update.
