    Issues encountered lately:

    • Can’t add phone number for Organiszer or Speaker – essential info
    • Can’t turn paragraph text into a link in the description
    • No styling of individual text in paragraph in description
    • Badges for categories no longer displaying correctly – they display correctly on the archive page, but not on the single event page

So, I finally figured this out and it is due to very weird behaviour for the plugin, via its own settings.

I was having a problem displaying the Future metabox on a CPT, “EVENTS” for the user type of “Editor”.

The settings in Future are not actually right from my point of view – the “Editor” user type was not enabled in the Advanced tab. Despite this, Future’s metabox was actually visible on the built-in WordPress Posts, but not visible on the CPT, “EVENTS”. Once the “Editor” user type was enabled, then the metabox appeared in the CPT.

This is completely counter-intuitive – why on earth would the Future metabox be visible for Editors in normal WordPress posts when the “Editor” user type is not enabled??????? This makes no sense at all and it is no wonder that it took me so long to actually find this glaring fault.

Image of issues on the Future dashboard:

    https://app.screencast.com/xhq672bZ702fW

Yep, I am finding that this is a common issue with the Divi Theme across multiple WP sites.

It seems to be common in Chromium based browsers (Chrome, Edge, etc.)

Using Firefox Developer Edition it seems fine.

The other thing I have found that can help is clearing the static css cache in Divi – doesn’t always work, but sometimes it does.

This has been an ongoing issue now for a couple of Divi releases.

Yes, the new UX is just terrible – such a backwards move by iThemes.

They’ve even removed the export/import setttings, which is just plain ridiculous and, the cynical part of me thinks that this is to make users take up their Sync memberships, as it seems as if that might e the only way to export and import settings.

I have actually tried exactly that and it does not work – the Sync dashboard can’t even properly connect with my test site.

    Appalling.

Is my suspicion that AfterPay does not support subscriptions correct?

I took over this site from a different developer and the client said AP wasn’t working on subscriptions.

Searching goog old google, I think AfterPay precludes subscription products, but I can’t find an answer 100% and their phone support number just says “there is no one to help you, check our online help system”, which does not return any search results for the word subscription.

This could all be a red herring and I apologise in advance if it is ??

    (@guerre64)

Sorry to hear that about your Client site as well @hsdon ??

I’m trying to see if I can get a previous version of AfterPay to install on the staging version of the site to see if it reverts to the original behaviour.

    All sorted.

Finally got this to work – there were php setting conflicts which were defaulting the site to php7.3, which obviously does not work with MEC Lite.

Once I was able to get php7.4 active, the plugin activated.

    Thread Starter guerre64

    (@guerre64)

Oh, and to top it off – even though the plugin is not active, I get 2 automated emails saying:

“Your event gets published. You can check it below”

with a URL that then obviously goes to a 404 page because MEC is not active.

    How is this even possible??

    (@guerre64)

Thanks for that Tim – appreciate it.

    Howdy.

Has this issue with Modula not working in Oxygen been sorted?

    Cheers,
    P.

Awesome – thank you for that ??
