It’s working now, thanks. I updated the plug-in, but that made it fail. So I then deleted the plug-in completely, re-uploaded it and started again.

Well, thanks, but unfortunately it’s still not working on mine. I’ve cleared the cache, tried different browsers, etc etc. Set it for ‘For show to everyone’, then check the box next to the name of the category in the list under ‘Categories +/-‘, and then click the Save button, which then says ‘Saved’ … but the x in the check box has disappeared. I’m using OS Mac Sierra (10.12.6) and the latest WordPress, plus the Oxygen theme.

I’m having exactly the same problem.
Haven’t got time at the moment to work out how to do it using ‘Post ID’ as toad78 has done above.

I have now figured out the problem and solved it. It was my mistake really. At line 518 of oxygen/style.css I added 10 lines of code last year, when they should have been put in the oxygen-child stylesheet, and these got wiped when you updated Oxygen. I’ve now uploaded them into the oxygen-child stylesheet and the website has now been restored to its former self.

Thanks for getting back to me, Griden. (I’m stuck in a hotel near M1 at moment after horrendous traffic jam yesterday, so only just seen your reply)

No, I haven’t touched any code. Yes, I use a child theme. I set it up about a year ago, and it’s been working perfectly ever since (until some time on Saturday morning when I foolishly clicked on your Oxygen update).

It seems to be trying to open each page in a full page spread, when I had it set up for three columns. I remember setting it up for that using your instructions but can’t for the life of me find those instructions again now. Very difficult with poor internet connection in this hotel.

I won’t have easy access to my computer until later today, but perhaps in the meantime you could give me the old version of Oxygen back?

Well, thanks, Jackie, that set me in the right direction but it didn’t straight away solve the problem, because I assumed you meant me to change the Settings in the WP dashboard under my General Settings. That made no difference. My mistake, it seems, was using putenv in the php code, and nothing to do with my WP settings.

When I changed the coding on the page in question to the following it worked:

I have the exact same problem. I have now spent $59 for the Alien/Oxygen ‘premium’ support service … which is just let’s you send an email. Which I have done. No confirmation email. Ummm. I wonder just how long this very expensive ‘Premium Service’ will take to reply?
