easy advice runs cheap these days, the truth is people have no choice but to hack WP in order to get it to do what they want it do to. Many times, it’s simple things that should be part of the core but aren’t, so people have to hack the files, i say go for it. I hack the hell out of WP that doesn’t mean i don’t think its a good software it is but it’s just not functional on some levels so i have no problem taking an ax to it.

I like the idea of a random per day quote vs every time the browser refreshes surely, some of the quote plugins can be modified to do this ?

ie

user from wp1 can access wp2

but user from wp2 can not access wp1

Is there a way to setup archives based on every 3 months ?

perhaps a dropdown menu ?

you might be browsing the search engine and stumble upon some links that direct you to member only content or a login

on the cimy-user website there is a comment that says that plugin is obsolete

i wish wordpess made the login and register forms an actual form that can be customized

yea i guess, the only thing is he’s on some google group site that requires you to login just to speak, i’m tired of having to create an account every where i turn, i’ll see if i can tweak it to get it to work

stop your crying, you people act as if your themes are so different from anyone elses themes ha ha got news for you, there is not one theme that hasn’t been taken (inspired – crook terminology) from another theme, stop trying to think you invented something new you haven’t, you only have so much space on a page and chances are whatever design one thought up someone else already did too so you can’t really ever claim 100% ownership.

This would be a great addon to wordpress the ability to convert some of it to the look and feel of a forum with all the wp perks a category is just a topic and a post is just a post and a comment is just a reply

that plugin is useless

There are so many quote plugins and all of them are either outdate or don’t work,

jwurster, your quotes plugin is on crack, doing some strange things ??

like the one version you say is set in options, the menu shows up but the link is to manage/edit-utterquotes.php which doesn’t make sense since the o version does not come with an edit file

and the m version which puts the edit in the manage menu works well but it interferes with other things

ie hide dashboard will show a manager menu linked to edit-utterquotes, this link tends to appear out of place where it shouldn’t

any ideas ?
