In reply to: Upgraded from 3.2 to 3.4 now get error getting to DashboardOk, all who are interested.
The Update to WP 3.4 once processed forces a database update if it is needed; which happened here. The update failed and caused the above referenced problem.
With gvopatel’s help I found 2 files that I removed:
db.php
db-config.ini
in the wp-content folderAfter removing these two files and attempting to access the Dashboard I was once again given the message to update the db. After clicking the ok button, the db update completed successfully returning full access to the Dashboard. TG
Upon checking the wp-content folder only the db-config.ini file was present. Whatever all of this means, I don’t know, but this is what I had to do to get a fix.
Thanks to those who lent a hand.

In reply to: Upgraded from 3.2 to 3.4 now get error getting to DashboardKrishna, 1 at this point I wish to stay as far away from 3.4 as I can
2. public site will be at the root domain
3. no problems on /rei site – on root domain site no Dashboard access
4. see 1-3govpatel
manual instructions begin with deactivating plugins and I have no Dashboard access.I have done all MySQL db tests on the root domain db and all come back fine.
Will overwriting the WPIncludes and WPContent files with those from 3.4 files I have on my computer hurt my installation?

In reply to: Upgraded from 3.2 to 3.4 now get error getting to Dashboardthis installation is fine because I did not do the 3.4 update to this one.
The install just prior to this one, I changed the theme to 2011 prior to updating to 3.4. Then I performed the update and got identical results.
So,I have reinstalled. If you would like WP credentials to see results for yourself, register and I will change you to admin.

In reply to: Upgraded from 3.2 to 3.4 now get error getting to DashboardKrishna, I reloaded the backup (in another directory) to get a good installation. I reverted the theme to the 2011 Theme (default) and performed the 3.4 update and still have identical problem.
Any other ideas?

In reply to: Upgraded from 3.2 to 3.4 now get error getting to Dashboardinstalled a backup copy of the site in another directory with a new db then performed the 3.4 update from 3.3.1
The update occurred then presented this screen:
https://screencast.com/t/MKXoDdCHCTjQAuthorized the db update and received this screen:
https://screencast.com/t/m9qGoszf5So it seems that the 3.4 update is creating the problem
