In reply to: [Customizr] Customizr 404 page quoteI found that an easy solution is to install the plugin “404page”, which lets you choose any of your pages as the 404 page. So you can make your own page and then define that as the 404 page.

In reply to: [Customizr] Customizr 404 page quoteNo, a default 404 page is provided by WordPress, but a theme can override the default, and Customizr does that. Try a different theme and you won’t see the quote. This is not a WordPress issue.
I checked by searching the Customizr theme files, I have the GB version, and in the file customizr-en_GB.po at lines 2939 onward I found the text shown below.
To my amazement I see there is another quotation, this one attributed to Winston Churchill. And guess what – Winston Churchill never said it or wrote it, and it is often attributed to Abraham Lincoln (who also didn’t say it).
See here: https://quoteinvestigator.com/2014/06/28/success/So they have not one but two false quotations! And we don’t want any quotations, let alone false ones.

In reply to: [Customizr] Bug in Heading 1 – no new line after itAny suggestions about this please?
My only workaround is to never use Heading 1, but people posting don’t know to do that.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Customizr] Bug in Heading 1 – no new line after itThere is another, related, issue. If you centre the heading 1 text it appears centred in the Visual editor, but it appears on the left when the post is displayed (or previewed).

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Error message – can’t save CSSThanks for your help anyway. It’s no issue now, I can avoid the problem.

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Error message – can’t save CSSI checked the security access rights on the folders. These are normal folders (Windows 10) and the user had permissions.
You are correct that the changes were saved in the database as I could see them there when I looked again.
However the changes were not making any difference, they definitely were not doing anything.I have now moved the system to a normal (Linux) server and TablePress works perfectly again, the changes I had made took effect.
So it looks as if there is some issue when running TablePress on a local machine using WAMP. Everything else in WordPress was working fine. By the way the database was not on the local machine, but on a remote server, an interesting experiment.

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Import then goes to Edit pageYes, I have discovered that works, thanks.
Perhaps you could put this on the “wishlist” for the future. Thanks for the suggestions. Using name= is officially deprecated so I didn’t want to try that (I doubt it would help.)
I tried <span id= and it works exactly the same as <a id=, no different.
So I can find no solution.
I’m sure the important clue is that it always works the first time.
Thanks for your help.Thank you for the suggestion, that is most helpful. I have made that change and it now also correctly works in Safari, which didn’t work at all before.
Unfortunately Internet Explorer and Edge still don’t work properly. What is extraordinary is that the first time you click the Story link it always works perfectly. But if you go back to that page and do it again, it doesn’t, it goes to the wrong place. Even refreshing the Story page doesn’t work, it keeps going to the wrong place.
What seems to be happening is that it is ignoring the end of the URL on subsequent visits, and it opens the page at more or less the same position that you left it at previously. I can’t understand this. No, you are clicking in the wrong place. Go to the right hand end of the row that starts with the word Beauty. It says:
Story of Holy Man who saw beauty of God in beautiful woman. See also: Story
Click on the word Story.I have some test pages I can experiment with, that show the problem. First go to this page:
https://www.ouspenskytoday.org/wp/the-record-of-shankaracharya-audiences-index-b/
Look at the 9th row down, which has the word “Beauty” on the left. On the right end of that row is a link “Story”. Click on that link.
In Firefox or Chrome you will see the relevant story at the top of the window.
In Internet Explorer or Edge you won’t, it will be visible but just somewhere in the window.
I’m hoping there is something I can do to make it work in all browsers.

In reply to: Installation finished fine but it doesn't work. You might want to ask in your own thread. This is completely different to my problem, which has been solved.
The link you give is to the install program. The link you want is:

In reply to: Installation finished fine but it doesn't work. Many thanks esmi.
(I’m using the default theme at the moment)
I changed the DirectoryIndex in the httpd.conf file.
I changed php.ini to support gd2.dll and copied the file to the php folder.
I restarted the Apache server.
All those problems are solved, WordPress is running.
