Thanks for your comments. We currently offer a 14 day free trial to our Individual plan, where you don’t have to enter credit card details, and once that expires, we have a Limited Free plan. Regarding subscribing, like the majority of services it’s necessary to register before usage to avoid abuse.

Thank you very much for your notifications. We are very sorry to hear that you faced such issues. We will do our best to investigate why you had such issues with our plugin. Our latest versions had some security updates, also the latest version was checked by our developers and WP admins, and they didn’t find any security issues. But we will recheck all one more time.

Could you please provide us additional details about your issues? Would be great to have hosting logs, PHP and WP logs of your websites to check how your website was hacked. We are not sure how our plugin could be installed automatically, maybe you installed some free templates or plugins and they had back door code?

We talked with WP admins last week and they said that they didn’t see any security issues in our plugins. But we will recheck all the code again.

We also have notifications in the plugin description and installation instruction about pricing and storage options. Still, your comment has shown that these notifications are not as clear as we thought they were. So we have added some additional info in the description, installation and FAQ sections. Hopefully, this will avoid any further confusion.

We develop our plugins for WP for our clients and share them for any users that can try our products. Our WP plugins are free for any users; you can install and remove them anytime without any charges.

Also it’s worth knowing that our cloud viewer version supports reading from URLs, so you can use it like a local storage. Plus we will shortly have a WP plugin for locally hosted version of GroupDocs.Viewer for Java. With this plugin you will be able to host your files locally, without sending them to the GroupDocs Cloud API.

Thank you for your interest in GroupDocs. Unfortunately current version of the GroupDocs Viewer plugin for WordPress doesn’t support this functionality, and only full file can be viewed. For now we have no plans to update the plugin, but if we will have the same request from our paid customers we can put such functionality into our road map.

Search functionality was implemented in GroupDocs recently, so it works within the main GroupDocs Viewer. However the plugin currently does not have this functionality, but that it’s a part of our roadmap to add, and it should be implemented soon. For now maybe you can try out our main GroupDocs Viewer to see if it’s what you are looking for? We provide a free 14-day trial, so you can test the Viewer or any other our app for free.

Thanks for getting in touch! Yes, downloading and printing options can be disabled for separate viewer instance (via url string parameters) or they can be disable for all your viewer instances via configuration in your GroupDocs account.

Thanks for getting in touch, and for trying GroupDocs Viewer plugin!

Please check the Installation section of the plugin submission page here. There you can see a description of where files are hosted and should be uploaded to work with GroupDocs Viewer plugin for WordPress. In the Installation and FAQ sections we explain that files and documents are stored in a GroupDocs account and the plugin uses the account’s GUID to retrieve and show the document on a WP page.

Also, you do not have to pay after the 14 day trial. When you register a new account you have 14 days trial period of the personal plan, but after this period you are automatically switched to the free plan. All this information is releated to the GroupDocs account required to host the files, and can be found at GroupDocs website.

We are really sorry if some information is missing from our description of the plugin. We are always looking for improvements, so we are working on submission update now. The description will be rewritten and note about GroupDocs account will be added.

Thank you very much for your interest in GroupDocs.

Currently it’s not possible, however we’ll investigate it and maybe we can add clickable regions to the pages from an Excel file where links are specified within a Cell.

If we do manage to implement this the links will have to be shown in the file, not just links and anchor text. We should be able to investigate in the next few days and come back to you with a timeframe if this feature is possible.

In answer to your other question, to modify your pages you should re-upload a new version of the file.
