In reply to: How to disable “Some plugins were automatically updated” emails? Thanks for the suggestion, but that article talks about the core update emails, not plugin updates. Ideally I’d like to be able to disable them too, but they’re not as annoying because core updates don’t happen as often as plugin updates.
I’ve been using the Advanced Automatic Updates plugin for some time, so my plugins have always been updated regularly, but the plugin update emails have only just started arriving; is this a new feature?

In reply to: How to disable “Some plugins were automatically updated” emails? Thanks for the reply Steven. On the Plugins > Installed Plugins > All page, the rightmost column is headed “Automatic Updates”, and they all say “Auto-updates enabled”.
I want auto-updates, I just don’t want to get emails about it.
No, unfortunately. I’ve changed the status back to not resolved.

In reply to: [WP Social Post And Widget] Adding “Link In Bio”I get that this is complicated; here’s an article describing what some other tools do to provide link in bio functionality, and here’s an example instagram post.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] PHP 7.3 compatibilityI’ve just noticed that W3TotalCache (and WP Super Cache) cause the Hestia theme to break using PHP 7.3: Pages appear in a column only half the width of the browser window instead of taking up most of the width of the window. Downgrading to PHP 7.2 fixes the problem.

In reply to: [Hestia] Removing the Website field from the Hestia Comment formHey Joanne,
I removed the website field with the Remove Fields plugin; but it also removes the author bio which I want to retain on my other sites. Plus, I’ve had some presumably-automated comment spam with website links in it. My ideal solution would be to remove the website field, and automatically flag any comment with a website link as spam; but I haven’t found a plugin that does this yet. If you come across a solution, please let me know.
The signup checkbox is a feature of MailPoet, which I use to generate newsletters.

That would be awesome, thanks!

Isn’t this words/characters discrepancy really the problem?
I can’t see an official limit specified in Instagram’s help pages, but many other sites cite a limit of either 2000 or 2200 _characters_.
Can you change the plugin set the limit units to characters rather than words, since this is how Instagram appears to do it?
Cheers,
GrahamThanks for the update. I can’t see a setting for the number of characters; all I see is a setting for the number of _words_, ala:
Show Post Details (words)
200
Number of words in Instagram post. Enter 0 for no description. Is this what you mean?
Thanks,
GrahamThank you. I have reinstalled and the error message has gone away. Cheers, Graham
I’m also getting this error message:
Your post ID 3458 not posted on Instragram due to following reason.
InstagramAPI\Response\ConfigureResponse: Caption too long.My settings are the default 2200. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

In reply to: [Hestia] Removing the Website field from the Hestia Comment formHi Rodcia,
Thanks so much for your quick response! I’ve tried that plugin and it does in fact work; unfortunately it also removes a couple of other unrelated things like the author bio which I actually want to keep. I’ve posted in the Remove Fields support forum about this, but the plugin hasn’t been updated in 3 years so I’m not too hopeful I’ll get a response.
Meanwhile I’m open to any other suggestions anyone has…
Cheers,
Graham
