  • I upgraded, and thought I had no problems. Everything seems to work fine, until I go to post. I then get this error:

    WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax near ‘ON (wp_posts.ID = .post_id) WHERE post_date > 0 AND ID = 451 ORD’ at line 4]
    SELECT tag_id FROM wp_posts INNER JOIN wp_post2cat ON (wp_posts.ID = wp_post2cat.post_id) INNER JOIN ON (wp_posts.ID = .post_id) WHERE post_date > 0 AND ID = 451 ORDER By post_date DESC

    WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax near ” at line 4]
    SELECT post_id FROM wp_post2cat WHERE category_id =

    The last part just repeats about 30 times down the page. Oddly enough, the updates are taking place, and the posts are being posted, but I have to hit the Back button after posting to get away from this error message. Any thoughts?

    Any ideas for making this work in IE? I don’t really care about IE, but more than 50% of my traffic still uses IE.

    This is my current header code from my CSS stylesheet:

    #header {
    padding: 0;
    margin: 0;
    position: relative;
    height: 200px;
    background: url(‘images/bg2.jpg’)no-repeat;
    position: relative;
    }

    Any ideas?

    Greg,
    That may have been the problem. I noticed the page updated this afternoon, and the most recent post was from 13 hours ago.

    As an insider at Blogdigger, any suggestions about how we could expedite the process of posts showing up? I realize no service out there will provide instantaneous updates, but perhaps we could speed things up a bit from our end…

    Okay, a new issue to discuss:

    On my “Page Template” I used to cal the sidebar using get_sidebar(). Now, if I remove that line, then my pages work perfectly, albeit without the titles. I think I have narrowed it down to a problem with my theme, because if I activate Kubrick, then everything works fine. I don’t think it’s a problem with htaccess or anything. I probably need to do some digging and update the template to be compatible with the new version.

    Thanks to all ONE of you for your help! ??

    Wow…a guy goes to sleep, and in the morning, it’s like an intellectual Santa Claus has come and left many gifts.

    I am nearing the completion of my graduate degree (i.e., in two weeks) and as soon as that’s done, I’ll be delving more deeply into the glories of WordPress.

    I appreciate everyone’s feedback so far.

    When you figure this out, please let me know! I have tried do find out how Bahia Street (www.bahiastreet.org) did it, but no luck so far. I am very interested in managing my new site using WP as a CMS.

    Good luck with this!

    Whimsy,
    I tried to send an email through your site, but may have made a mess of it. I am trying to do something similar with a site I am building, but I have no idea how to go about it. I am very, very noob-like when it comes to PHP, but am an eager and willing student. Any help you could give me (i.e., a peek at your code) would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Greg KB

    I’ve noticed a lot of traffic coming from this post, but only one comment (thanks, vkaryl!). Is it really THAT bad?

    I’m not just looking for compliments, but suggestions to improve readability, functionality, the features, etc. Let me know how I can make this the best little blog it can be!

    Man…I guess I need to mainline the caffeine instead of ingesting it in my coffee!

    Miklb….
    I love the graphic…that’s exactly what I was looking for. Would it be possible to send me that pallette as a .png or .psd file? Not to be too harsh, but the fonts you picked ain’t exactly my style! The artwork, however, is fabulous. I’ll let you know in a few days or so if I choose to use it. I’ll be out of town til Sunday, so don’t get too blue if you don’t hear from me before then!
    I appreciate your interest!,

    Thanks, Moose!
    As you can see, the support has been overwhelming, and I’ve had to turn down scores of eager designers, vying for the exposure my little slice of blogdom will bring!

    I appreciate the help…

    I love it when I fix my own problems! I thought I would just add this, in case anyone else had the same problem.

    Apparently, adding “/archives” to the beginning of my permalink structure solved everything. Now, my pretty permalinks all have “archives/2005/whatever” in them, but I guess verbose URIs are better than not havving any archives at all.

    I’ll be over here, in n00B corner, trying not to stick out too much ??

    In reply to: Image gallery in WP 1.5

    Anyone had luck running Simple PHP Gallery on a 1.5 install? The site says it is only tested for 1.2. Just curious…

    Any forthcoming support for pages?

    I like the clean layout, but I like having my pages linked, too!
