In reply to: Twenty Twelve meta-datanever just copy the full content of functions.php of the parent theme into functions.php of the child theme – this will very likely lead to a fatal error.
only ever add pluggable functions to a new functions.php in the child theme, or any functions to overwrite stuff from the parent theme.Thank you, alchymth thank you. Kept wondering why my child theme was not working.

In reply to: Controlling size of Post Title white space in Twenty TwelveResolved! I deleted the post that was anomalous, repopulated the fields and updated. Perhaps it was related to some images that I had included earlier?
Thanks everyone.

I haven’t checked validation.

In reply to: Controlling size of Post Title white space in Twenty TwelveAnother strange thing is that
<header class="entry-header>
is only attached to the First Post, subsequent, more recent ones do not have this tag; they are given the <article> tag with postX id and class (so, post71, post72). On these, I can’t drill into the entry header at all.And in fact, tweeking those parameters caused the other post summaries to get pushed too far up into the title.
Could this all be connected to the <more> shortcode I’m using from the WP post editor?

In reply to: For Portfolio Press: How do I organize Portfolio ItemsThanks, I was wondering how to do this and it works for me.
It is working for me. My advise would be to visit to the theme developer’s website and watch the theme’s “how-to” video. At about 7’45” he shows how to customise the theme in order to insert a gallery on a portfolio page instead of a larger version of the thumbnail. (BTW, cropping thumbnails is a matter of editing the image, and once you have dragged out a crop box, THEN hit the crop icon and SAVE. Not very intuitive, but there you have it. Note the buttons to the right, showing which versions of your images will be affected.)
The plug-in developer’s site also has a how to page:
https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/up-and-running-with-nextgen-gallery-in-5-minutes/#comment-383NOTE: in the case of Portfolio Press, don’t follow step 6 and create a new page. Instead, insert the gallery shortcode (or use the tool icon) in the existing Portfolio “page” that you created with the Portfolio Post Type plugin (assuming that you are using Portfolio Press’s portfolio features).

In reply to: Creating Child Theme and Modifying Twenty ElevenThank you! This was very clear and helpful.
If you could give an summary of what that code is doing then I’d be grateful. I’m trying to grok it, but I’m not there yet with PHP.
Also, this doesn’t seem to affect the “Home” page that comes with Twenty Eleven. I presume there is another PHP file one needs to create to override this? Any ideas?
