The fields look good to me. Email field is set to have validation.

The default setting is example.com/wp-login.php. ?

Then why is there a Login page in the example data downloaded and how to you get the “Login” link on the top header menu to go to a specific login page, vs. the wp-login.php?

I have yet to find a way to get the login to go to any place except wp-login.php.

After login via wp-login.php (or register), the student is take to the WP profile page, makes absolutely no sense. Any ideas on a redirect after login? Back to the original page hopefully. I saw some other posts on this but no answers.

I switched Settings > permalinks, under the Common Settings to “Post Name”. This made all posts in the format of <install dir>/%post-name%/ and it all started working. Thanks for the info.
