Did you install/change anything yesterday?
The error is occurring because the Nonce that WordPress generated for that form is not the same as the Nonce the form has submitted. The only time I have seen this issue on Easy Sign Up is when a site owner added the easy sign-up forms code by hand, this stops the nonces from syncing.
An aggressive server-side caching system could also cause this issue.

You could add the download link to the thank you email and have a message on the thank you page that states something like:

Hi, name, click the link below to start your download: (link)

Thanks, I see you in my inbox, the thing that really confused me is that it blocked me out and said I hadn’t passed security one time I switched it on.

Are you auto-filling the form – if so you maybe filling in the hidden honeypot field, which is there to catch the bots?

I’m also not sure what a spambot does – but for sure someone or something is sitting on my site sending me very human-looking email addresses and names 1-5 times a day, you got through but they didn’t.

Spambots will use an email address that will look normal. They are just trying to send spam and because your from does not contain a comments field you’re probably not getting their ‘spam’ content

Regarding my other issues – I’m guessing copying a page from WordPress in there is not such a good idea – that is where the text had crazy spaces in it and the links didn’t fully load.

I am hoping to get some time to work on this pet project of mine (Easy Heads Up Bar) I am considering offloading the CMB to the CMB2 plugin as a required supporting install. Not sure how happy the users will be if they miss the message to install the plugin but I feel that now this is an option it’s probably the best way to go.

The honeypot is a hidden field that tries trick the spam bot into filling it in.
If the bot fills in the field we know it’s not a human.

@drew345 have you tried to rename the honeypot field to trick the bots into filling it out?
There is no captcha at the moment – my idea with Easy Sign Up is to make it suuuper easy to use. Watch for the next update I’ll work in an Akismet integration.
