Have had this problem for awhile and haven’t upgraded NextGen because of it – but just found an answer on another post.

Basically, create a file named imagebrowser-caption.php, copy the contents of imagebrowser.php to it and save. Then upload or ftp to the “view” folder in the nextGen plugin (…wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/view/imagebrowser-caption.php). If you have cpanel you can just create a new file, name it, copy the contents and save.

I just tried and it worked for me.

Had same problem – upgraded to 1.4.1 and image browser quit working – album view worked and would take me to gallery view but then clicking on pic in gallery would take me to blog post and not image.

I disabled and enabled permalinks and then clicking on pic would take to blank page with rendering of image browser template php failed message. Couldn’t find anything in forums so reinstalled 1.3.6 – where everything works just fine for the time being.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I think PhotoSmash Galleries plugin is what you are looking for allows users to upload photos directly from site and you can set whether to allow post or approve post etc. Check it out.
