Great suggestion. That did the trick.
Thanks!

In reply to: [ICS Calendar] Please read before submitting a ticket!Calendar feeds that were previously working are no longer updating, even after clearing the cache in the site back end. I amd using the latest versions of WP and ICA Calendar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Nevermind. The technique described here accomplishes what I need.

In reply to: [Events Manager - Calendar, Bookings, Tickets, and more!] Orphan eventsI have a slightly different version of this problem. My dashboard indicates that there are 10 items in the trash. Except there aren’t; the trash is empty, and there is no “trash” link.
As an experiment, I added a new event. Then I deleted the new event and the count increased to 11. When I emptied the trash, the count went back to 10.
Any ideas?
My hosting service reports no more errors in the last 18 hours since I uninstalled the plugin. I have grepped the entire source code for the site; there is no other place the error can be originating.
I just heard from my hosting service that the problem is still occurring, even with the plugin disabled. I therefore have no choice but to delete it until a solution is found.
I have been experiencing the same problem since about 08:07a CDT this morning. Making the suggested change to wp-config.php appeared to solve the problem, at least temporarily. My hosting service reports the problem has returned. I have disabled the plugin for the time being. I am using version 4.13 of the plugin.

In reply to: [WPSSO Core - Complete and Optimized Structured Data SEO] Error with v4.3.0Problem solved. Apparently, the mbstring module was not installed following a recent system update. The hosting service has corrected the problem.
Thanks much for your excellent support!

In reply to: [WPSSO Core - Complete and Optimized Structured Data SEO] Error with v4.3.0Could it be a php.ini problem? It appears that all the multibyte string related options in php.ini are commented out. Could this be the problem? (although why this problem would only appear now is a mystery).

In reply to: [WPSSO Core - Complete and Optimized Structured Data SEO] Error with v4.3.0Our server has been upgraded to 7.1.17 but the problem persists, albeit in slightly different form. Now when I attempt to edit a post, I get a generic HTTP 500 error.
Looking at the phpinfo() output, the Configure Command string contains the following:
‘–enable-mbstring=shared’ ‘–enable-mbregex’
Are those settings correct?

In reply to: [WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan] Login failed with blank userI’ve replaced the front end login plugin with a different one that appears to be much better behaved. So far, I have not seen the error with blank user attempted logins.
Thanks much for your help resolving this problem!

In reply to: [WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan] Login failed with blank userIt does look as though there may be an association between the login widget and the blank login error. I encountered no errors with this particular plugin disabled. Here is the plugin:

In reply to: [WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan] Login failed with blank userYes. All of the plugin logins show in the activity tab, without any of the blank username login errors.

In reply to: [WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan] Login failed with blank userI would be glad to do this if we are unable to resolve the issue by other means. What I have discovered in the meantime is that the problem only reproduces when logging into the back end via wp-login.php. I have a third-party widget for logging into the front end which works fine for both Author and Administrator accounts.
