Hi,
Thanks @t-p for the link, I reviewed it but they were more of the mind to setup the 301 redirects for entire site, which I agree would be a streamlined solution. But, that would create a problem for reporting on the traffic of the pages which now would show up with 2 URLs (old and new) in Google Analytics.
If we had the ability
- To just stop using the old permalink structure and leave that intact for historical posts
- Start the SEO friendly permalink structure on Jan 1, 2019 (or sooner)
That would be ideal to keep reporting on synced.

– Can you tell me why just having WordPress in a subdirectory is so ill advised? I did it successfully here https://www.935Jefferson.com , quick site, the server/WordPress threw a lot of 500 Errors though which might have been due to the sub directory or the htaccess
– What make the root install so much better, is it because there is only 1 htaccess to contend with?Forum: Fixing WordPress

They might be able to help point you where your backups are stored (hopefully). This may or not help https://smallbusiness.chron.com/restore-wordpress-onto-bluehost-62915.html
