Hi Erica,
I am running Envira Lite 1.5.0.4
Thank you Dave. That absolutely did the trick. I think I misunderstood the usage of that particular setting.
Thanks Erica. You didn’t quite answer the question I asked but I am going to assume that the answer is yes.
Erica, thanks for your response as well. Just for my clarification, when I view source on the page and search for highlight.js, which Tim referenced, I see that the entire line is:
<script type="text/rocketscript" data-rocketsrc="../js/highlight.js"></script>
Is that the same thing that you are referencing when you say to “disable CloudFlare’s Rocket Loader”? It seems to be because of the term “rocket” but I want to make completely sure. I guess to put it another way, if I disable the loader will that script request go away?
Thanks
Tim. Great response time! Your suggestion did resolve my issue. Working great now.
Thanks!!!
Hi Cory. I finally got word back from my hosting provider. The following is a quote from the last email they sent me.
I’m sorry for the inconveneicne that may have caused you. The permission error message is received is because the plugin requires write permisisons for the root. Unfortunately, we do not provide write permissions for the root on our server. So, I suggest you to upload the wordpress files to a separate directory and run the duplicator plugin. If you have any issues, please let us know so we can assist you. Please refer link https://www.ipage.com/knowledgebase/beta/article.bml?ArticleID=165 for information on Domain Pointing.
The path that I am having the permission error on is the root according to them.
Is this what you meant by a symbolic link earlier?
Thanks Cory. I have chatted with my host. They are escalating to a specialist and I will not know anything for 12 to 24 hours minimum to know if the problem is on their end or not. Will let you know when I know.
By the way. Thanks for the pertinent responses you are providing for your plugin. It means a lot. Anyone reading this post in the future should be reassured. The quality of a plugin is only as good as its support. In your case, it is great. THANKS!
Thanks for the reply Cory. My question wasn’t about how to change permissions. It was how do I locate this one particular image file that is showing a permission error. Nothing in the error message means anything in context to my folder/file structure on my site, so I cannot figure out where the file in question even is. I haven’t the slightest idea what or where “/hermes/bosoraweb096/” is.
Also. Not sure what you meant by, “You will probably have to FTP to the site.” Are you talking about using ftp to change permissions? If so, I know how to do that, but I go back to my original question about the file location.
Any ideas?
Update:
I decided to install my localhost development site into a test sub-directory on my live domain. The contact form works as it should with no problems.
I have to conclude that as Jason Hendricks mentioned, I probably have a localhost server / local file / folder permission problem. Thanks for your suggestions Jason. I will try your fixes on my localhost setup in the next week or so. I will post an update after that for anyone else who may run into this issue.
I decided to use Meta Slider. It does all I need in a simple slider and actually is a little easier to use.
Any ideas from anyone? I love the way this one was working. I have no idea why no images are showing up now. As I said earlier, I have turned off all plugins and switched to the default theme. No fix.
I have the latest update from Envira Gallery Lite installed.
What do I check now?
Thanks.
I decided to go another route and use another slider that doesn’t return errors. No idea how to fix this question. Will probably go unanswered…
Sorry about that. Thanks so much for your quick replies! I will check the link you provided.
By the way, if your quick response time is any indication of the working of your plugin, it is probably a great one. Thanks for the great customer service.
Sorry. What is the right forums in this situation. The errors are “Private Content” errors. If you could clarify, that would be great.
Thanks.
Thanks Postman SMTP for your suggestion. I have now enabled the Debug plugin.
This is the only “Warning” on the log. There were a few other “Notices”. Since this is the only one associated with the plugin directly I posted this one here to start .
Given the warning, what is my next course of action?
