thank you so much for this post! I have been trying to figure out why compression didn’t work on my site for a month! I needed it desperately. Turns out… that was it. I was just using the SEO tool also.

I had to reconfigure my Apache settings. Images showed up. Of course then the resizing doesn’t work, on only the default image. Working on a fix.
