Aha! I’ve successfully downloaded the snapshot so will now proceed with the restore. I’ll give you a shout if I need to. Thanks very much for your help and prompt response.
Thanks, Jo
Hello Jason
The main problem I have is understanding how to download and save all the files from the backup (the Filesystem folder). There are probably thousands of them within all the dozens of different folders, each requiring the individual insertion of the encryption key. My initial question at the start of this post is asking how I do this but that has not been answered – or if it has, I’ve missed it!
In desperation I have started to download each of the files individually but I can see this would take me a minimum of eight hours of solid work, possibly far more. If I can move all of the files onto my pc, perhaps I will have a fighting chance of restoring my backup. Could you please tell me how I do this?
Thanks, Jo
Hello Jason
Sorry to say that try as I might, I cannot follow this. Backing up my database was easy. I didn’t need to use it but Jupiter Jim’s video shows just how simple it is. He mentions in the video that he plans to create another video showing how to restore the database. Unfortunately he hasn’t yet released this.
Do you have a ‘Noddy’s guide’ to restoring a database? Are there any other Jupiter Jims out there who have produced a clear set of instructions for this? I really need a nice step by step guide that I can follow from start to finish. In the meantime, my site has been down for over a week and this is a key part of my business!
Most WordPress users are not highly techy, which is why we choose WordPress over something more complicated. The restore process seems to be far from straight forward. I appreciate that your company provides it as a free plug in but I’d rather pay a few quid for something I can actually use. Do you have people on hand who can do the restore for me for a reasonable fee?
Many thanks for your time and help Jason. I hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks, Jo

In reply to: .406 Not Acceptable > not able to insert images to pages.I have exactly the same problem. One suggestion was to deactivate all plug ins, which I have tried, but it makes no difference. All help – in simple language please! – appreciated. Thanks, GoJo bannersandmash
