Trying to make it similar to my current site https://www.thecatholictravelguide.com
Can anyone suggest a book on website design with WordPress? I do better with books. I bought “WordPress Domination” which helps some but is more geared towards forums. I intend to have a forum but my main goal is a comprehensive website that I can easily edit.

In reply to: Adsense ThemesThanks, I am slowly learning! Appreciate all the help. Still not quite comfortable with WordPress but getting there! I am trying to duplicate the layout of my current site on a “master page” that I can then use on all my other pages.

In reply to: Book by Matt Wofe "WordPress revealed"I am using Winhost which is supposed to be very good for WordPress. Trying to learn Winhost along with WordPress is a bit of a challenge.

In reply to: Which theme is bestThanks for that advice. I will try out the two themes suggested and have found a couple books on Amazon. I just want to concentrate on what is on the site rather than how to design it, so the simpler the better.

In reply to: Which theme is bestThanks. I did already ask about books—been on so many forums that I forgot who I asked. Being of a certain age, I just feel more comfortable looking at a book than the computer screen. But I do realize how quickly they get out of date.
Have added WordPress to my new host (Winhost) so now I need to figure out what I am doing. Tried one sample but it made me edit my header logo width which pretty much rules that one out.

In reply to: Import my webpage from Intuit websites to WordPressJamie:
Thanks for the encouragement. With Intuit I use frames–just put a text box and then type in it. Can place it anywhere I want on the page. Same with photos–move around, re-size, whatever.
Is WordPress as simple as that? I am hoping so.
Best regards,

In reply to: Import my webpage from Intuit websites to WordPressDear Jamie:
thanks for the response. I thought that was the case but hoped it wasn’t. For now I think I will just move my blog to WordPress (have to get a separate URL unfortunately) and stay with Intuit for the website for a while. Sounds like the manual process of changing the website would be a nightmare since I don’t even know WordPress.
