Well a friend of mine who is both and artist and a web designer sent me this

Wow—never knew a poor little font could cause such controversy. I did google it and found a lot of haters…..among designers. However, 99.9% of the visitors to my site are not designers. So, does that mean they will hate it or not? I would have to change 600 pages and am not crazy about doing so unless I think it would radically improve my site.

What fonts do you all recommend? Perhaps I can try one out on one of my pages and run it by you.

Thanks, Dylan. Don’t understand what is wrong with Comic Sans. I have had quite a few people say that they like it. So what is the problem with it?

Regarding the hover color, I agree it is bad but I don’t know how to correct it. Don’t know code and can’t figure out how it got that way in the first place.

Regarding the blog and site matching, not sure how to do that at this time since I am using two different programs. I made them as similar as possible. Eventually I plan to put my main site on WordPress as well but not ready for that yet.

Thanks for the input. Staytamed: not sure how to speed up the load time. It seems all right on my end. Could be the google adsense ads slowing it down. I use 3 ads per page on my main website. But that is not a wordpress site and each page is fairly good size. I get decent click-through rates on that site so that is why I did the same thing on my blog site. How would I put an ad in the middle of the post? Not sure how to lay things out so I just used an adsense plug-in that did not give me that option.

Thanks, I know the hover is messed up. But since I don’t know code I don’t know how to change it. My goal was to have the white change to Italic when I hover over it and then maybe a grey after someone had clicked on it once….similar to my main website at https://www.thecatholictravelguide.com. Can you tell me how to do that? Obviously I set it up the way it is in the beginning but I don’t know how I did that and can’t seem to get back there.

Well unfortunately I cannot afford an expert which is why I hoped to get an answer here.

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately I don’t know anything about coding so I don’t understand what you are saying (although I appreciate you taking the time to reply). I know that the site is not SEO friendly and that is why I want to switch to WordPress. I just don’t want to shoot myself in the foot. I have already put my blog on WordPress…as a way of learning WP. It will have a different URL but it was a way to get my feet wet in WP.

Read all that but I seem to be missing the “my sites” in the toolbar. Is that because I only have one site at the moment?

I don’t know where to find my toolbar. When I log on to WordPress, it takes me to the dashboard for my current site.

So I assume there is something that I don’t understand.

Thanks to those who responded. One more question. I thought I had it figured out….but then the next post I tried it on it did not appear to work. Do I need to clear my cache, or is there some sort of delay?

Well, it does work after all. When I hit preview this post it does not show it but when I go completely out of WordPress and pull it up in another browser there it is! Weird, imho.
