    Thanks. Not sure why I have a syntax error although I am dangerous when allowed to access the code in any way. I will wait for your reply. Have to leave but be back in an hour just in case you answer right away you will know why I did not respond. Appreciate all your help.

    I am using a child theme of 2012. Thanks for trying….it is probably something simple but when you don’t know anything about coding it is a mystery!

    Since my post has been moved (my bad–I put in the wrong forum) I can show you my main website (I think it is OK). This is how I want my WordPress blog Nav menu to appear. I think it must be a simple change but cannot seem to get an answer that works.

    I think we are talking about two different navs. I meant the nav menu at the top of my page: Catholic Travel guide home, destinations etc. I think what you are talking about is is shown on the right side of the page. Is that correct?

    Not sure I put it in the right spot, here is what I have now

    .main-navigation {
    margin-top: 24px;
    margin-top: 1.714285714rem;
    text-align: center;
    }
    .main-navigation li a:hover {
    color: #efefef; /* very light gray */
    }
    {
    margin-top: 24px;
    margin-top: 1.714285714rem;
    font-size: 12px;
    font-size: 0.857142857rem;
    line-height: 1.42857143;
    }
    .main-navigation a {
    color: #000000;
    }
    .main-navigation a:hover {
    color: #000000;
    }

    I tried that but it doesn’t seem to work. Here is what I did:

    }
    .main-navigation a {
    color: #ffffff;
    }
    .main-navigation a:hover {
    color: #ffffff;

    Maybe I am not doing it in the right place. I just changed the color from 000000 to ffffff

    So far my experience with WordPress plug-ins has been great….except for this. I am a beginner so maybe I am just doing something wrong. Anyway the code that shows up when I use the plug-in is as follows:

    <script type=”text/javascript”>
    var _gaq = _gaq || [];
    _gaq.push([‘_setAccount’, ”UA-20476851-4”]);
    _gaq.push([‘_trackPageview’]);
    (function() {
    var ga = document.createElement(‘script’); ga.type = ‘text/javascript’; ga.async = true;
    ga.src = (‘https:’ == document.location.protocol ? ‘https://ssl&#8217; : ‘https://www&#8217;) + ‘.google-analytics.com/ga.js’;
    var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
    })();
    </script>

    But the code that Google gives me is different:
    <script>
    (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i[‘GoogleAnalyticsObject’]=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
    (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
    m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
    })(window,document,’script’,’//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js’,’ga’);

    ga(‘create’, ‘UA-20476851-4’, ‘catholictravelblog.com’);
    ga(‘send’, ‘pageview’);

    </script>

    So I don’t know where to go from here. Google says tracking is not installed. Any help would be appreciated.

    Just to confuse things more, I did have this plug-in installed earlier and it worked. But I had to move the analytics into my main properties section. I had is as a separate one before.

    I hate to admit it, but I don’t know where the plug-in came from. Just when I click on the left of my dashboard under settings it pulls up a drop-down menu that includes general, writing, reading etc, analytics, adsense,

    Hi Dylan: Don’t give up on me yet!
    I changed the blog home page font to Helvetica 16, the next closest thing I could find to Palatino Linotype.

    Also tried Helvetrica on my main site, but did not look nearly as good as the Palatino Linotype. Any further suggestions?

    Dylan:

    Since both you and my two computer-geek friends were horrified that I used Comic San MS (who new it was so controversial?) I changed my font on my main site to Palatino Linotype size 16. I wish it was a bit darker but I must admit it is easier to read. Just changed the home page for now. Problem is, I don’t seem to have that font on my WordPress blog, or if I do I don’t know how to find it. I see about 17 choices but not that one. Any suggestions!

    Thanks,

    Well I have a lot of font options on my blog…I guess that is tinyMCE. See how little I know? Anyway when I post it pulls up options for font, size, etc. So would it be better to just use one of those?

    Dylan:

    “work will set you free” Definitely misleading.

    I am using Google chrome. I don’t know how to change it but would appreciate some advice.

    As far as making the site look more like the blog, I actually was thinking the other way around. My main site takes 728×90 Adsense ads and large rectangular ads that I cannot fit in my blog and these ads are very effective. I need to monetize my site to make it worthwhile so Google Adsense is the way I do it so far.

    I am not sure how I can change either the main site or the blog at this point to make them more similar. In fact, I thought I had them fairly similar (of course I am an amateur).

    Ok, I figured I did something wrong. It was an image in an email. Cute sign that says “comic sans is never an acceptable font. Unless you are an 8-year old girl writing a poem about unicorns.

    Still, not convince that it is so terrible but would like suggestions for alternatives.
