In reply to: Author page 404 error and no author picOkay thank you. I did disable Yoast and it did not work. I will disable the others and try that too, but I only have a couple. I will reply if that resolves the problem. Any other ideas?
Could it be my theme?
Can I change my theme temporarily just to see if that is the issue and return to my current theme with the same settings.
I don’t want to lose my settings if I change themes.Forum: Installing WordPress

In reply to: Static Home Page: Will it Affect my SEO?Not sure if this is a WP how-to question, but more of an SEO question, if I understand it correctly. I put static homepages on all of my websites, and I think it is best for SEO. Google ranks individual pages, not the entire site.

In reply to: Moving within same Domain, and a bit more complicated…Um, ok, that *kind-of* makes sense to me. When I pull up my files in Filezilla, do I just copy/paste that text above into the existing file that is called “index.php”? Which index file? Is there an actual folder called “web-root”? Is that text replacing something else, or do I just paste it in before everything else already there?
Forgive me for my ignorance!!
As for the permalinks – Do you mean that I will need to add a “CUSTOM STRUCTURE” and put the “/MyWordpressDirectoryName/” in there so that my URL’s do not change? My urls are currently Custom as “/%postname%/”. So, would I then update to “/MyWordpressDirectoryName/%postname%/”?
