In reply to: A little portfolio & blog … would you please take a look :-)You shouldn’t even begin to imagine how terribly fed-up I’m with IE-6,7 and 8. It’s unbelievable that IE is the lamest excuse for a browser developed by a company that dominates the computer industry. My website https://www.gimliglider.com performs exactly as I want it to be in virtually all browsers (Opera, Safari, Firefox you name it) but it would glitch out and crash and burn in IE (even IE8).
Also IE8 keeps popping up an annoying dialog box asking me to send them suggestions and stuff ever time I open it up and there’s no option that it offers so that I could disable it. The only two available options are Next and Ask Me Later.
I’m now looking for a plug-in or writing a code myself that would do a browser check as soon as user comes to my website, and then if any version of IE is detected, it would pop up a javascript-powered dialog box saying that “IE is not and will never be compatible with this site. Please download Browser X Y and Z from the following links respectively. Link 1 link 2 link 3 etc
Sorry for the rant, but I really had to say it

In reply to: First blog – Feedback/criticisms pleaseI love those sexy images. Keep ’em coming ??
Oh as a matter of fact I totally second the above poster’s opinion. I too went to your site thinking it had to be about pineapples (i love ’em, specially in summer time) but what I saw was a personal blog
I think my site is a decent example. I’m not shamelessly promoting my site here but I’m just demonstrating an example.
The site’s URL is https://www.gimliglider.com but it’s got nothing to do with either Gimli, Canada or gliders, gliding etc. Rather what it deals with is: “aviation, computers, electronic gadgets, daily happenings & anything that its author considers archive-worthy”
And I do state the purpose of the site very clearly at the top of the page inside the iphone pic right below the header: ““Yet another totally ad-free blog that carries some articles on aviation, computers, electronic gadgets, daily happenings & anything that its author considers archive-worthy” — Gimli”
Also the site has an About Me page that details what the site is all about and what it’s not.
Hope this helps

In reply to: Anybody wanna tell me how my website looks?I’m sorry to have frustrated you regarding that. I’m making small changes day by day, and I do hope to do a complete re-work anytime soon. Numerous changes have already been applied, but I guess it was wrong on my part to have used the word ‘heavily’. I sincerely apologize for that

In reply to: Firefox Crash only with WordPressEureka guys! I just found the solution and I can guarantee it works 100 percent! Simply go to Tools > Add-ONs, select Gears and ‘Disable’ it. Everything will work fine after that.
And Gears was totally useless to me from day 1. So losing it is not a big deal. If you can’t live without Gears, wait for Mozilla and/or Google to fix it.
Best Regards,
Gimli

In reply to: Firefox crashes when I use ‘inset photo’ link on post.I’m having the exact same problem. Didn’t have it before, but it’s just started happening and it’s extremely annoying. I’m now having to use either IE or Chrome to edit a post. What’s the solution for this?
