Ok, I figured out how to install them manually. Thanks for all your time!

I did manage to get one to install automatically somehow, but I can’t install any more. Most of the time, it still is hanging at the unpacking step, however sometimes it will move to the installing step and then hang again. Is something timing out on me?

Ok, I can do that. The only folder I don’t have ownership of is “upgrade” from what I can see in my ftp client right now.

I did that, and it didn’t work. I have to add that I have 4 plugins that do show up on the list; I just can’t get additional plugins to show up when I upload them. I have 3 activated, and the “Hello Dolly” one is inactive, but it is visible. I even checked to make sure the plugins have the required php header information.

All plugins. Also themes, but I can upload them manually and I see them in the list.

Yup, had done that too; I verified this by seeing the other plugins in there also.

Exactly my problem. Tried all solutions offered on the forums such as adding a line to the .htaccess, modifying ftp settings, etc. with no avail.
