I have tried 2 new themes and the sidebar is showing fine in both. I deleted and reInstalled OceanWP only to get the same sidebar glitch in the LivePreview display.

I am upset to have to loose all that I have designed thus far and learn a whole new theme all bc of a sidebar. I liked working with OceanWP and would like to fix the sidebar and continue.

If there is anything else I can do please advise.

I guess this indicates the issue is definitely the Theme itself?
I will post this in the OceanWP Forum/Support but looks like I have no choice but to drop all my hard work and start over with the new. Very depressing ;(
All because of a side bar GLITCH.
Is WordPress always going to be this much of a PITA?

Thank you for your response and plugin recommendations. I will follow your advice, optimize with plugin and then backup and then switch themes and I will report back.
I did a bit of research and was planning on setting up a WPstaging site-I am not sure how important that is in the face of all the changes I have been making..hope that I am not causing damage? It seems like I am having quite a few issues so early on. cheers.
