In reply to: [Fourteen Extended] 1.2.1 is breaking my layoutZulf,
Thanks so much for your excellent and prompt response. I will follow your prescription.
You should teach a master class on how to develop, implement and run support for plugins. Your work and support are superlative. Keep it up!
Gratefully,

In reply to: [Fourteen Extended] 1.2.1 breaks wp 3.8.1 multisite1.2.1 broke my site’s layout, too, reducing the site to a 300px wide column of disjointed gibberish. Only solution for now is to deactivate until this is resolved. All was glorious going up through 1.2.0. Single-site installation, by the way.

In reply to: [Twenty Fourteen] Twenty Fourteen aka ParkerActually got it to work, but only after a rigorous game of deactivating, deleting, re-installing, re-activating, etc. But for the benefit of the uninitiated user or novice, it is clear that something does need to be fixed. Thanks!

In reply to: [Twenty Fourteen] Twenty Fourteen aka ParkerAfter re-installing 3.8, then de-activating, deleting, re-installing, then re-activating Jetpack, the featured posts decided not to appear again. It’s pretty clear that there is something in Jetpack that is breaking the featured posts function in Parker. I’ll wait for an update to the plugin and/or theme.

In reply to: [Twenty Fourteen] Twenty Fourteen aka ParkerHad the same problem with featured posts not appearing. Then disabled and deleted Jetpack. Then re-installed and re-activated Jetpack. Then renamed the “featured” tags. Now… featured posts appear on the home page as they should, BUT there’s a new problem: no content below the featured posts grid. It just says “Nothing Found” where my latest posts should appear.
Anybody home?
In case this is helpful to anyone, I reverted back to the previous version of this plugin, (version 0.15), which now works perfectly, as it always did. The current version (0.18.3) is broken in WordPress 3.1, at least for me.
In summary, here is what is working for me right now:
WordPress: 3.1
List Category Posts: 0.15The plugin doesn’t work in WP 3.1, and I’m reverting to the older version.
Still hoping for any ideas to get the thumbnail strip to load faster. It often takes quite long to appear.

In reply to: [List category posts] [Plugin: List category posts] Broken in WP 3.1I actually had the previous version of List Category Posts on another WordPress site. So I deleted the updated plugin, uploaded the previous version and installed it. It works.
In conclusion… the latest version of this plugin is NOT compatible with WordPress 3.1, but the previous version of the plugin does work with WordPress 3.1.
Ahhhh, got it. It does eliminate the previous photo, but without the graceful fade effect. Just an abrupt cut out.
Thank you for the workaround. Very much appreciated.

Hey JJCoder,
I upgraded to version 1.2.8 and added the your suggested code into my shortcode:
[jj-ngg-jquery-slider gallery="1" html_id="collister" effect="fade" controlnavthumbs="nextgen_thumbs" directionnav="false" thumbsgap="5" manualadvance="true" order="sortorder" thumbscontainerheight="40" height="480" afterChange='function() { jQuery("#test_slider").css("background-image", "none"); }']
No change. The previous photo stays visible under the current photo:

Ah, well…

Hey JJCoder,
Most excellent. I’ll wait for the update. What’s WordPress’s typical turnaround for plugin updates?
Thank you x 100 for your invaluable and speedy help. Once the plugin update, I’ll keep you posted on the results.
George
JJCoder,
Understood. Many thanks again for your quick responses. I look forward to an updated version that resolves the bug. Until then, I’ll make images with uniform sizes.
Thanks,
George
