That one is a little hard without some level of access to do some testing. Do you have any users that are working properly at this time? Or are they all dead?

It is possible that you accidentally typed a ‘$’ when editting the file template-functions-category.php or a file that it includes. I would suggest first checking template-functions-category.php on line 248, 249 or 250 for a ‘$’. If you post those lines up we could probably see where the problem is.

Also how did you upload the files?
