I’ve experienced the exact same thing and think this is a plugin bug that needs fixed. If you are an admin and are trying to add this into other users profiles, it will not save into the DB.

If you log in with that user profile, the information will save just fine.

From my experience, it can take 4-6 weeks for your picture to show up in the results. I’ve used this plugin and it works but it took about 1 month to see the results. I’ve used other methods on non-WP sites and had the same results.
