Version 2.1.17 worked and still does. I got tired of trying all of the new updates which did not work. For such an essential service, having it break with each update is not something you can have. If 2.1.17 could be supported with whatever minimal tweaks are needed to keep it up to date with the latest WordPress, I’d pay for that. I don’t need 400 options and constant updates. Keep it simple! Anyone else agree?
Tried this by adding it to my wp-config but still getting the same errors. This WP installation is from way back (although currently using latest WP 3.5.1). Is there something I need to do to the database to make it recognize that define line in wp-config? Thank you for your responses.
I get the following as an error in the working log:
1. Try to dump database …
[17-Mar-2013 16:16:46] ERROR: Cannot set DB charset to utf-8
[17-Mar-2013 16:16:46] 2. Try to dump database …
[17-Mar-2013 16:16:46] ERROR: Cannot set DB charset to utf-8
[17-Mar-2013 16:16:46] 3. Try to dump database …
[17-Mar-2013 16:16:46] ERROR: Cannot set DB charset to utf-8Is there somewhere this needs to be updated? The last few updates to the plug-in wouldn’t allow me to run the backups at all (and took a very long time to install). Could this be a server side issue?

In reply to: JetPack Plugin IssuesI got a blank page from my iPhone browswer after activating the mobile site feature. We use the Thesis theme framework so thought there could be a conflict there.
I just disconnected from WordPress.com and reconnected and am now seeing more traffic coming in – we’ll see how the stats show at the end of the day. Not sure what the change was – thought it was an internal thing but maybe somehow I lost my sync to the track stats on the wordpress.com side.
Thanks Andy, sounds like a good thing to have activated. Appreciate the response.

In reply to: [Plugins: Jetpack] How to manage the Subscriptions? It would be cool if the subscriptions feature would allow hooks to third party email services, like MailChimp, so that subscriptions can all be managed in one place for users that already have subscriber lists.

In reply to: JetPack Plugin IssuesLooks like there is a new version out 1.2.1 – anyone try it yet and did it solve your problems?
1.2.1
Bug Fix: Ensure Site Stats menu item is accessible.
Bug Fix: Fixed errors displayed during some upgrades.
Bug Fix: Fix inaccurate new modules “bubble” in menu for some upgrades.
Bug Fix: Fix VaultPress detection.

In reply to: JetPack Plugin IssuesI tried going back to WordPress.com Stats but that does not work. It says something about my account (same account used in JetPack) is not authorized to access the account. So, I’m back to JetPack 1.1.3 and just using the stats plug-in there.

In reply to: JetPack Plugin IssuesI’d like to go back to just WordPress.com Stats – has anyone reverted to that and have their stats maintained after using JetPack?

In reply to: JetPack Plugin IssuesI deleted the actual folder via FTP and then uploaded the older version via FTP – I didn’t delete through WP-Admin. My old stats do show up but I did have to reconnect to WordPress.com with a username and password with the older version. Not sure if this would work for everyone but it did work for me.

In reply to: JetPack Plugin IssuesReverted to the earlier version and all seems ok. Wish the new one came with a beta tag (or was offered a beta test by email) to see if it would have worked.

In reply to: JetPack Plugin IssuesTried to deactivate and reactivate. Stats work with all other plugins off. Of course, I need these other plug-ins as they run the blog.
