I deleted the plugin and used Jetpack instead – which gives you 30 free social media posts a month, which is more than enough for us. ??

Since version 1.4.2 now seems to have fixed the IE (desktop & Win Phone 8) problems, You may now change my star rating to a five!

Thanks again awelzel, I saw Your message in the other thread, and have replied there!

@awelzel: I saw Your post in the other thread, but didn’t have time to look at it before now, but in the meantime I see that dFactory has released the update You mention, and it looks like the IE scrolling bug has now disapperead! ?? Works fine now in IE11!

On my Nokia Win Phone 8, it also works fine on the site roykenhopp.com, while on ggranvik.no, the problem with black images has returned. But since it only appears on the latter, I guess there must be a plugin conflict here (it’s driven by a pretty heavy theme, “Fullscreen” by Themify), so I’ll have to check that further.

Thanks a lot awelzel for Your contributions, and thanks to dFactory for having made fixes in response to the feedback! I haven’t been able to find many swipebox implementations for WordPress, which is really the only lightbox function that is suitable for small screens (which account for an ever increasing share of the Internet browsing), so I think this an important plugin!

@awelzel: I wasn’t aware that the plugin had been updated with Your fixes, but that’s great news! I just did some quick testing with the new version, and everything seems to work ok now, except for one thing, that happens on two websites I run, with completely different themes, but not on Yours: The page scrolling up to the top after having visited the swipebox (no matter if you try to scroll down, it will go up again). And it’s the same with my two Win 7 computers with IE11, and on my Win 8 phone. The problem does not appear in the Chrome browser on my dekstop however.

But it’s very strange, because when I look at Your two links, they function perfectly, without the scrolling problem! As mentioned, my two sites use different themes from different providers (Cyberchimp and Themify). But there may be several plugins I use on both, so I guess I have to do some testing With disabling plugins!

You may look at the followng pages, from the two sites:

    (“Fullscreen” theme from Themify.me)

    https://www.roykenhopp.com/fotogalleri?picasaViewAlbumId=2009RYkenhopprennet%2C0
    (“Responsive pro” theme from Cyberchimps)

Thanks for Your work on this!

It would be wonderful if these modifications will fix the problems with IE (mobile & desktop) that I have just reported in other posts about the swipebox implementation in the Responsive Lightbox plugin! ??

I have tried several other swipebox / photo swipe implementations recently, but apart from the IE problems, this is the most useful one I beieve!

I recently reported a problem with the swipebox on win phone (only fiirst image shows ok, then when trying to swipe or use the arrow buttons, succeding images are just black). But now, on my PC with Windows 7 and the newest IE, I get exactly the same problem as described by the thread starter. The swipebox seems to have a general problem with IE, and no matter how popular other browsers have become, nobody wants to have a web site that doesn,t function with Internet Explorer…. Too bad, since this plugin is excellent otherwise!

I have tested a bit more now, but i’m afraid I can’t get it to work as I intended when displaying the site on my WinPhone:

    1. The Fancybox variant works fine on all Devices, including the WinPhone, just like the Easy Fancybox plugin I have used for a long time.

    2. However, I have realized that the only proper way of diplaying photos on small mobile devices (smaller than the standard iPad size that is) is full screen. And one should be able to swipe between images. The SwipeBox variant had been perfect, since it does all this, and without upscaling photos on large screens (like some of these fullscreen lightboxes do, which makes the photos look horrible on desktop screens!).

    3. I tried both the methods one can select for the SwipeBox, CSS and jQuery, and none of them work properly on the WinPhone (but perfect on my other devices). Which is a pity, since I really liked this plugin.

I use a theme from Themify.me, “Fullscreen”, with a built in Page Builder system. I don’t know if the theme or other plugins may cause the SwipeBox trouble, but I presume it would then also affect the site when using other devices?

Thanks for the answer. I wasn’t aware of that, so I’ll get back and try!
