I made one theme and one plugin with WordPress, and the experience was so awful that I will never try it again. The codebase doesn’t seem to have gone anywhere since it was first written.
To anyone else coming across this thread, OctoberCMS is a nice new CMS that I found, and it’s written with Laravel, so the code is actually beautiful.
