In reply to: [Stencil] Not working with Featured ImageBack @taropaa
So I just tested things on WordPress 5.3
I do recall fixing something a couple months ago that was related to tab-switching not working properly.Would you mind upgrading to the latest version of the Stencil WordPress Plugin, and letting me know if the problem is persisting?
If so, I’d love to get on a Skype call with you to diagnose the root cause.
Thanks again for your patience!Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Stencil] Not working with Featured ImageHi @taropaa
First of all, I want to apologize: there’s no excuse for ever taking this long to reply, but for context: I had subscribed to this forum, but for some reason never got an email from WordPress.I’m going to look into this now more fully, and get back to you with a response asap.

In reply to: [Stencil] getstencil.com refused to connectOkay perfect! As always, reach out whenever you have any questions or run into any bugs. Changes are that if you’re running into anything weird, someone else is, so it’s super helpful for us to know about it, and document it (either here, or through our support channel).
The fix for Vietnam should be arriving around the end of next week. I’ll update this support ticket when it’s live!

In reply to: [Stencil] getstencil.com refused to connectHi David –
Thanks for opening this ticket. I think I can give some feedback.
Recently, we’ve had a number of hacking attempts from Vietnam. While we investigate, we’ve had to block certain types of requests that are coming from Vietnam. The site should still work, but it requires something called a JavaScript Challenge, which ensures that your computer is requesting things legitimately (and not trying to hack into our system). One way around this (for now) would be to use a VPN and connect to another country.
Really sorry for the trouble.
This likely won’t run for more than a couple weeks (while we install some different, less invasive, security measures).Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Stencil] stencil-admin.js loads on frontendThat’s an interesting approach @updraft
Thanks for posting; I’ll test whether baking that directly into the plugin would work!Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Stencil] JS loading on every page on front endThis is a duplicate of the other ticket. Closing for now.

In reply to: [Stencil] stencil-admin.js loads on frontendHi @mikesale –
Sorry to hear you’re running into this as well. Here’s why this is so tricky:
Some WordPress plugins require the code to be loaded on the “front end”, because they offer a live preview/edit feature. So as you make changes to your post, you’re actually in the “front end” of the site. Not all plugins work this way, but some do.
To make it even more complicated, some plugins allow you to edit a post/page in the “front end” or in the “back end”, so we can’t write code which says “dequeue if this plugin is loaded”.What about something in between: we offer an option for the plugin that allows you to turn off loading
stencil-admin.js
on the “front end”?Would that satisfy your concern?
If so, I can’t give an exact estimate of how long it would take, but I don’t think it should be too tricky.Looking forward to your response.

In reply to: [Stencil] stencil-admin.js loads on frontendHey Ryan –
It’s a good idea to check for authentication before making calls to have those files queued. I’ll look into that as soon as I can, but in the mean time, the easiest might be to just turn off the plugin from your Plugins tab when you’re not using it.Doing so will prevent anything from being inserted.
