This webform is for someone to opt in to my monthly email list. I started using Forminator and didn’t find out I need the Pro version to get email alerts when someone fills out a form. More importantly for me is getting an alert of the new contact being sent to Keap, which has my email list. I hope someone who has used one of these plugins can verify if it has this capability and is free preferably. If it sends the info to Keap then I assume Keap can send me the email alert instead

Thank you everyone for your excellent help. I now feel like I understand this better and feel confident this will all work

I’m working on creating a web form, so that when I email previous clients to get them to join my email list. They will have a button to choose to opt in. This will take them to a webform on my website. I want to receive a notification that they opted in and also if they filled out additional info on the form. I’m not sure if this is considered a push notification, so I installed One Signal. Maybe that will work. I also have Jet pack installed and it’s activated, so maybe that will work also. I’m in the beginning stages of this, so please excuse my ignorance.

The WordPress.com website gave me this info below. I assumed I referred to my website when I log in as the admin, but maybe I was incorrect about this

Activate Browser Notifications

To turn on WordPress.com notifications in your browser:

1. Visit your site’s?dashboard.
2. Click your profile icon in the upper right corner of the window.
3. Select “Notification Settings” on the left side.
4. Next to the “Browser Notifications” panel, click the?Enable?button:

I now see this post, but it’s in the wrong forum – Everything else WordPress Forum. Not sure how it ended up there. My original post is in the Fixing WordPress forum and that one is not showing up. I replied to that post about 24 hours ago. Can you find it?

Thank you Mika and Steven. I’ve tried 2 different browsers and then a different computer and browser, even first going to www.remarpro.com and navigating the Fixing WordPress forum and I get the same result I checked the 1st 2 pages and even this post you just made a few minutes ago is not showing up. With you replying to this post, doesn’t that move it to the top of the forum list on page 1?

I know everything is showing up on my profile, but would you please try and go to www.remarpro.com and navigate to the Fixing WordPress forum and let me know what you see.

So sorry to bother you both with this – this is very strange. I use forums often and this is a 1st

Now this current post has disappeared. I went back 6 pages and didn’t find it. Is there a forum moderator? I hope my replying to it will get it to reappear.

I also saw that in my profile a few hours ago and you would think that my post would show up because of that.

So go to Fixing WordPress forum and see if you find my post there on the first page? Thanks for trying to figure this one out, I appreciate it

Thanks Steven for looking into this. My very last post on this topic was about 1 hour ago. When I go to the “Fixing WordPress forum, I’d expect to see it near the top post, just like this new post you replied to does. Do you see this post in that forum? Is it on the first page? I’m baffled.

The tiny pic image code doesn’t work in this forum so here’s the JPG files

Your suggestion worked perfectly on 2 of my pages, but didn’t on the 3rd page. So I’d appreciate any help on why this didn’t work.

I got some embed code and pasted it into my web page for “Contact”. It doesn’t show my location on the map, yet it has a hyper-link at the top left that says “view larger map”. When you click the link it opens a new google map window, which is interactive and shows my location.

So I added this text on my “Contact” page above the map.
To see Midi Magic Studio location and more detail – click below on “view larger map”

So this worked perfectly on both my “Contact” pages. Where it didn’t work is on my main Entry page. https://gprecordingstudio.com

I went into the WordPress admin edit mode, Pages, and chose my Contact page. Where it said Fullwidth map, I clicked on the X to it’s right and it was deleted. I then added the text to the Text Module above. You can see this here

My Entry page is more complicated and deleting the Fullwidth map by clicking on the X to it’s right or the X on the purple rectangle to it’s left produced the same result. It put a Fullwidth menu at the top of this page and also distorted the top image.

I can’t figure out another way to get rid of the map without messing up my Entry page.

Here’s more images of the edit mode of my Entry page

and here’s above that map

Any suggestions?

I like your solution and tried the instructions and got HTML code. I have some experience with HTML code and have done some editing on my website, nothing complicated, so I think I can do this.

I’m wondering if you know the answer to these questions:

1) Will google let me do this without charging me?

2) ON the first link above I can see Midi Magic Studio marked on the map plus some other landmarks like, parks, motels, stores, etc. Yet when I did the code embed, it stripped off all those landmarks and Midi Magic Studio. The map won’t be very useful if it doesn’t have, at minimum, my studio name.

I’m confused by this statement on the embed:

This map is built for you
When you view this map on your site, you’ll see your saved places on the map.
Your site’s visitors won’t see those saved places – they’ll see a map built for them.

Do you think this means my studio name will not be seen by visitors to my website?

Man Jacob, you’re the best. You sure cut through a lot useless info that I’ve been dealing with to get to the real solution. The people that did my website used the Divi theme, so I suppose they paid for it and since I do my own website editing and don’t own Divi, it appears I’m stuck with an old version that doesn’t have the google API key setting mentioned in that article.

Are there any other reasonably simple options for me to retain some kind of map? If not I can just get rid of it. Thanks for your excellent help!

I spoke too soon, a few hours after this post I lost Cue again. It appears to be caused by WordPress autoupdates. 4.5.2 doesn’t work well with Cue and that appears to be the problem. I’ll know if I can go a few days without losing it. But I feel I found the culprit. I found a plugin that makes it easy to disable autoupdates.

I’m sure there have been many horror stories caused by autoupdates. I hope eventually Cue or WordPress will fix this problem, but for now I’ll stay with 4.3.1

One other baffling thing that I’d love an answer for is: this time I was able to replace my Stats folder with the Nov backup Stats folder. Yet why are the minor tweaks I made to my website showing up on the Nov backup that I just restored. Where is WordPress getting this info?

. Is there some internet database that stores my info? or is there a hidden file or folder in my root directory? Or is WordPress finding my up to date Stats folder that I hid in a folder I created on my website? This is a little unnerving and spooky.

Any ideas on what in the world is happening?

I may have a clue to solving this problem. After I posted last night in this forum , I edited my website and restored the revision I did on my audio page that has Cue to revert back to the way it was before Sunday.

The small change I did Sunday was I did a temporary fix and added a hyperlink to take the viewer to my old Dreamweaver website, that I still have stored on my host. On my old website the audio player does work fine, since it’s not Cue and has nothing to do with WordPress. Unfortunately most will then be on my old website and not realize they should hit the back button to return to my WordPress website.

After I did this revision restore, I found that I again lost Cue. So I uploaded my Nov files again and replaced my website. Cue came back after that and I checked it several times even with different browsers on different computers.

This morning I just checked and it’s still working fine. This time I’ve been very careful about going into the editing mode for my website. It appears that’s the problem. Every time I’ve restored my Nov files, the very first time I’ve gone to my website to view it, a message comes on the screen saying that it needs to rebuild the database files (I think that’s the message) I choose ok and it quickly does it.

So I’m wondering if this is the clue to the fix. I think the reason it needs to rebuild the database files is because the Stats folder never gets replaced, since it’s a system folder.

I wonder if I can now edit my website and somehow manually choose to rebuild the database files or some other type or reset. Maybe that would fix it and not have Cue disappear. At this point I’m not going to edit my website, unless someone has something I need to try. I’ll keep checking it everyday and see if this is indeed what’s causing it
