In reply to: [Embed videos and respect privacy] Enable Caching?Schon klar…ich kann ja deutsch ??
It is a checkbox ion the plugin settings. The problem is that it does not work…images are not saved locally.
I am in contact with the plugin author via GitHub, and he told me that in the newwest version this checkbox is unneccessary, it would work out of the box.
Unfortunately, not on my site ??Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [GigPress] Replacing Google Maps by OSM?Hi,
I have managed to replace the Google Map Call in GigPress by an OSM call, this was not very hard. However, it is not update safe.
I believe that Google Maps, embedded into a web site, collects data like IP address and referrer, and it uses cookies. In combination with other embedded Google Services like Google Fonts, Google Translator, Google Calendar, YouTube etc. it is possible to use all this data to create or update user profiles.
No visitor really wants that, and one of the goals of the GDPR is, in my opinion, to stop this kind of big data aggregation.
If you include Google Maps in a web site, you must at least tell your visitors that they are being tracked in your Privacy Policy.
A better choice, in my view, would be to remove Google Maps completely from the website and replace it by OSM…as far as I know they don’t use tracking cookies.
To me, this makes a web site more GDPR compliant.
So maybe you could include a switch in the plugin settings, to choose from either Google Maps, or OpenStreetMaps, or no Maps at all.
Cheers from Gerdski

In reply to: [GigPress] GDPR / Privacy PolicySorry…I thought I was writing to the GigPress support.
How can I reach them?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [GigPress] GigPress and other PluginsHi,
thanks for your answer. The gigpress_show() is fine…i can see the plain SQL ( well, almost ?? ) that gets the results. Let’s see if I can somehow manage to call this function from “outside”…if yes: fine. If no: I’ll just copy it into the timeline plugin.
Yeah, combinations of plugins can be cool. Like Google Maps combined with Custom Post Types (Members, Places, …).
Thanks,

In reply to: [MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress] Integrate a payment solution with Mailchimp?Hello Danny,
sorry for the late reply, due to holidays and decision times :-/
I think we will go for a WooCommerce-MailChimp-System with the WooCommerce Subscriptions AddOn and PayPal Subscriptions. (https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-subscriptions/)
So, of the three Options you mentioned in your answer, the third option “Use WooCommerce subscriptions” is obviously the only one we can use (am I right here?).
Can you tell me some more about the Integration of WooCommerce Subscriptions with MailChimp?
Thanks a lot,

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Placing Ticket Reservation Widget on top rightMy theme is called Avada, and…yes…I can add many widgets in the Widget admin page. But these don’t show up in the event view.
I would like to move a widget, not to add another one.
I see 4 widgets on the right side(bar):
Details
Venue
Organizer (with Google Map)
Tickets (big blue button)I want to move the Tickets widget from the bottom to the top. How can I do this?
Cheers,
GerdskiSo there is no option for that in the plugin already?
Thank you for your answer.

In reply to: [MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress] Integrate a payment solution with Mailchimp?Hello Danny!
Thank you for the good information.
Yes, we’d like to set up different mailing lists, at least two:
1.) Customers who have paid (for something) via WooCommerce.
and
2.) Customers who didn’t.One can become a Customer “1” if they paid for a virtual WooCommerce Product, which is (nothing but) a subscription.
Is it right that MailChimp can then detect who has paid and add them to the list of premium newsletter recipients (Customers “1”)?
If yes: Great! MailChimp is what we need.
We must find a payment provider now (for Germany) who can handle subscriptions and integrate with WooCommerce…but that should not be the problem of MailChimp…as long as it gets the message “paid” from WooCommerce. Am I right?
Thanks a lot, ??

I think a recurring payment / subscription is what we need.
Thanks!
