Hmm, interesting. I did switch back and forth between 61522 and 3.3.5 several times to be sure. I’ll stick with 61522 for now and as soon as I see a new version I’ll test it out and let you know what happens.

I’ve been having the same problem with the visual editor not working with YouTube Embed running. It used to be fine, and I’m not sure at what point / version it stopped working. It was broken on 3.3.3 and 3.3.5.

I’ve just tried the 3.3.4 (61522) build you included above and that fixes the visual editor problem.

I then updated to 3.3.5 and it broke again. Back to this test build and it works again.

Can you merge these changes into the next rev?

I’m successfully running W3TC 0.9.2.4 & BackWPup 2.1.4 on WordPress 3.2.1. The Disable WP-Cron option is not checked in my installation.

I was having the WP-Cron issue a month or so ago, but unfortunately do not know what versions of the two plugins I was using at that time, as we just rebuilt/redesigned our entire site over the past month.

I’ll report back if anything stops working.

So what is the solution to this problem?

I do a backup on the same server as well, and the backup file is always created successfully there, although the backup process does still hang. It’s like the backup process is working fine, but the reporting of it hangs.

It’s a bit risky for my taste to have my only backups on the server that host the site. If the server crashes or gets hacked badly, then my backups are useless to me.

I’m getting the same problem, intermittently. It often hangs on larger backup jobs. I have one site that has 300MB of files, and it creates the .zip file fine, but does not complete transferring the file to my ftp server. Hangs at a different point each time. On other sites with less files it usually works fine, but occasionally will hang the same way.

I just tried changing from .zip to .tar.gz but the same thing happens. I can see the ftp transfer happening on my server, and I can see the update symbol spinning on the tab in my browser that is open to the backup log, and then at some point in the transfer the update symbol stops spinning, and the ftp transfer stops at the same time.

Daniel, what else can I change/try to fix this?

I’ve been having problems with this plugin as well. Used to work, but stopped working correctly after upgrading from WordPress 2.9 to one of the 3.x versions.

Has anyone heard from the developer on this problem?

I’m not even using the Dropbox backup option but I’m getting this error in my log files now, with BackWPup 1.60 and WordPress 3.1:

[ERROR] Can not Auth with DropBox API: Only the app owner can receive access token while this app is in development mode

Why is it trying to access DropBox when I have not selected that option in the backup job. All dropbox fields are empty.
