In reply to: [Appointment] Slider on different pageI’ve done this now – just created a new page template, and added the slider code into that.
get_template_part(‘index’, ‘slider’);

In reply to: [Appointment] Logo next to menuIt has worked.
Brilliant support! Thanks! And useful to know about the code snippets plugin.

In reply to: [Appointment] Logo next to menuMy apologies, I was being stupid and should have checked that first! It has, of course, worked perfectly. Thanks for getting back to me so fast!
And now I have noticed that whilst the logo position is now fine, on mouseover, the tooltip shown is ‘appointment’. Is it possible to change this?

In reply to: [Easy HTTPS Redirection (SSL)] Not forcing external URLs to use httpsNo, I agree about the links to non-secure sites, you are absolutely right, of course. It’s just that we simply don’t have any choice at the moment. I don’t own the web cam external site, and can’t force them to make it secure though I will suggest it to them.
Yes, the domains exclusion list would certainly solve my particular problem.
I’ll check out the WP CLI one.
Thanks for the fast responses, much appreciated.

In reply to: [Easy HTTPS Redirection (SSL)] Not forcing external URLs to use httpsHi, thanks for that explanation (and the very prompt feedback). But still, it would be easier if you could exclude certain pages, rather than having to include them. The site I am referring to is a gliding club. One of our pages embeds images from web cams, from a non-secure source. The plugin forces those images to https, which means they don’t work. Now, I don’t really care if that page isn’t secure. The problem is there’s a 100 or so pages on that site. So the only way I can make those images display is – I think – by not including them in the https redirection. But that means selectively choosing 99 pages to be re-directed, rather than choosing just one not to be redirected. That’s my issue.
Hi,
yes, I’ve just spotted this too, as I’ve just started using POSTFULL. I did wonder if it was an email client specific thing, but I don’t think it is, having seen this thread. It’s not a major issue, but if there is a fix, would be great.

In reply to: [WP Responsive header image slider] Update broke menu displayHi,
many, many thanks for the reply, I do appreciate it. Yes, it is working now – but that’s because I grabbed the earlier version of the plugin from a backup, and restored that, over-writing the latest version. And now, as you can see, it is working again.
I’m sorry, I should have got a screen shot when the fault occurred, but I can’t now – I’ll just stick with the old version. I’m happy with that.
I guess if no-one else reports any issue, maybe it was just some incompatibility between my theme, the drop down menus, and the plugin.
Anyway, since I’ve got it working again, albeit on a previous version, I’ll mark this topic as resolved.
Again, many thanks for the response.
Geoff.

In reply to: [Facebook Plugin: WP Social] Latest version broke siteActually, I’ve just found an older version on your web site, 1.8.7, and installed that, and it’s working again. But I’d rather have the latest version, if you know why it didn’t work on my site.
Thanks.

In reply to: Users can't logon error 503 Service Temporarily UnavailableYes, I’ve just realised my problem of access just relates to one ISP, vodafone spain. If I go to somewhere using another ISP, it’s fine. My guess is that 1and1 have blocked a load of IP addresses, as a security measure. I’m trying to get them to deal with it. It is just 1and1. I can get into the dashboard of other wordpress installations not hosted by 1and1.
In the short term, the only solution I think is to access your dashboard from a different location which uses a different ISP; or maybe use a proxy server.

In reply to: Users can't logon error 503 Service Temporarily UnavailableYep, and I’ve just started having exactly the same problem with my three WordPress sites hosted by 1and1. I’ve put in a support request.

In reply to: [FBF Facebook page Feed Widget] Does this only work with pages?Hi Lakshmanan,
putting groups to one side for the moment, I’ve tried getting feeds for a few pages, using your link above, and it doesn’t work. I’ve been getting IDs from friends of mine, using:
https://graph.facebook.com/geoff.minshull
or whatever for the profile name. So for me, that returns an ID of 100005844427753
So, I then use the facebook RSS link in your above post:
https://www.facebook.com/feeds/page.php?id=100005844427753&format=rss20
and I get the syndicatione error. I get the same error with IDs of three friends of mine.
Is this something to do with facebook, rather than your plugin? Have they recently changed the way they handle feeds?

In reply to: [FBF Facebook page Feed Widget] Does this only work with pages?Hi Lakshmanan,
thanks for getting back so fast, much appreciated! You can see the privacy settings here:
https://www.directlearn.co.uk/temp/privacy.jpg
The group ID is 223094877746938
Within wordpress, these are the settings I have used:
https://www.directlearn.co.uk/temp/widget.jpg
And these are the results in the sidebar:
https://www.directlearn.co.uk/temp/sidebar.jpg
So I’m not sure why it isn’t working.
There is something which might be related. I’m wondering if FB have recently changed the way they handle RSS feeds. Within the group, there is the Groups to RSS option. This generates this feed;
https://facebook-rss.herokuapp.com/rss/223094877746938
Looking at this via my normal reader, Feedreader 3.14, it works fine. But if I try to look at it via IE or firefox, it fails to load anything, and IE says it contains code errors.
Thanks again for your help!

In reply to: [FBF Facebook page Feed Widget] Does this only work with pages?Hi,
I’ve got the feed for my group, using the app Facebook Groups as RSS, but I can’t work out how to edit FBF to display the feed – I’ve tried, but can’t seem to get the correct coding. Could you give me some idea of what I need to change?
(My group privacy setting are set to open. The group is https://www.facebook.com/groups/223094877746938/)
thanks
