    Sorry for this late reply, but I wanted to reach out and say thanks for this feedback. Most folks leave either 1- or 5-star review, so the fact that you fell somewhere in the middle tells me you’re really thoughtful and took a lot into consideration. Seriously, thanks for that.

    I did want to touch on this:

    Unfortunately the import feature is one of the “fringe” features and I expect it to disappear at any update.

    Rest assured! This is not a fringe feature in our mind and we have no intention of removing it. We know it’s super helpful in many cases and we wouldn’t want to take that away.

    As far as data sharing, I’m super sorry about that! I haven’t heard the same sort of feedback from other folks, so I wonder if something went awry on our end in this specific case. If you reach out to our support team (support [at] theeventscalendar.com) and reference this thread, we’d be happy to look into that for you and remove you from any lists that are causing you to get emailed like that. Definitely not our intention at all!

    Thanks for writing in, though I’m also sorry that we failed to meet your expectations with built-in shortcodes.

    Just out of curiosity, was there something we communicated that led you to believe that shortcodes were included in the plugin? I wanted to ask so that we can fix that and help clarify that for others so they don’t hit the same frustration.

    Other than the shortcodes, is there anything else that warranted a one-star review? To be honest, one star seems pretty harsh for something that we aren’t advertising while the calendar itself works as expected. But if there’s something we’re missing there, I’d love to know about it so I can share it with team and use that feedback to improve the plugin.

    You’re absolutely right. We definitely dropped the ball on languages with the redesign of our calendar views in The Events Calendar 5.0.

    I’m sorry you bumped into that issue. We’ve been working hard and have put fixes in place for it. Sounds like you’ve already moved on from the plugin, but I at least wanted to let you about that as well as that there’s a way to revert back to the previous view designs in the plugin settings.

    I really do appreciate your feedback here and for keeping us accountable — hopefully we can earn back your trust down the road. In the meantime, thanks for writing in and reaching out.

    Ah, shoot. I’m really sorry to hear about that, @kischmi. We do put a lot of work into making the plugin as solid as possible and ship maintenance releases on a regular schedule, but it sounds like we failed to meet your expectations.

    If you wouldn’t mind and you have a few minutes, I’d love to know exactly what wasn’t working for you. Your feedback will help us track those down and ship fixes to prevent others from hitting the same frustrations. If you don’t feel like it, that’s totally cool too. I hope we’ll be able to earn another chance (and stars) from you in the future.
