In reply to: [Mihdan: Ajax Edit Comments] WP Ajax Edit Comments is BrokenThere isn’t a paid version anymore. They released it as free, but they don’t seem to be paying much attention to making it work.
Peace,
GeneAs you see, it DOESN’T work. It doesn’t work for me in Edit mode either, though I don’t get that error message. I have complained to the current developers, but they remain tone deaf about the lingering problems.
Besides, how can you say it works when it’s core function isn’t performing properly?
Maybe a few more bad reviews will convey the message to them.

In reply to: [Mihdan: Ajax Edit Comments] WP Ajax Edit Comments is BrokenI wrote to the company who had previously offered this as a premium plugin, and they said they’d let the developers know.
Haven’t heard anything since. ??

In reply to: [Mihdan: Ajax Edit Comments] WP Ajax Edit Comments is BrokenIn my case, the recent versions are broken because they don’t work properly. Click Edit and it doesn’t load the message. This is a bug that has existed for several versions, and it seems the author(s) are tone deaf about the need to fix the problem. I’m not alone in reporting such issues.
Peace,
GeneVersion 5.0.7 still broken. Don’t they test these things?
Peace,
GeneYou’re welcome. If I understand the problem here from other threads, the new version is missing some files, and the current developer doesn’t seem to care. Or at least isn’t paying attention. ??
Peace,
GeneAnd it’s also unfortunate the the current developers don’t seem concerned enough about releasing a defective product to work on a fixed version.
Peace,
GeneMeantime, I’ve gotten permission from a former developer to offer a link to a working copy of WP Ajax Edit Comments until the new version is fixed:
https://aecpublic.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-ajax-edit-comments.zip
Peace,
GeneI had a backup of mine. You can click on Other Versions on the plugins description page to find some of them. But in my case, I had a copy downloaded for the time it was a premium paid plugin, which is, of course, why I am not able to send it out.
Peace,
GeneAha. Yes, much, much better.
Peace,
GeneDefinitely a time out when trying to reactivate this plugin./
I agree; this is the best of the bunch. It uses less resources than some other alternatives.
Maybe someone will assume control and update.
Peace,
GeneI am, as of today, using WP 3.3, release version. I disabled ALL plugins before retesting. Same symptoms; it wouldn’t activate. I’ve tested on 2 servers so far. So it’s not a plugin issue.
Peace,
GeneI suppose, after 3 weeks, we must assume the developer has no interest in supporting this product.
Gene
So a day later, and no response, and two days since I sent a message via the Contact link at the author’s own site. ??
Gene
Simple text editing of a theme in an OS that does auto correct (such as Mac OS X Snow Leopard, configured in Language & Text preference pane). You type two hyphens, and it autocorrects and converts it to a dash. Very innocent, and not readily obvious unless you look for it. ??
