@bernerbuddies: not sure abt rewrite_titles but php optimal title makes a diff in search engine results

my problem has been solved at last. Phew!
As i upgraded to WP 2 and selected ‘Date and name based’ in permalinks and updated permalinks the problem has gone. Thank god!

i was using rewrite-titles but i had a prob wid it…so now using optimal title–works just fine… the title (if its not the homepage) shows like this… postname>>blogname

i hav got rid of the problem by manually creating a page and uploading it. that solves it.

i removed the slashes and the asterisks and got results.

yap. it is using BX_get_pages template tag. But I set it to exclude a page, still no results. the page id is 19 and i did it like this-
$pages = BX_get_pages(‘exclude=19&title_li=<h2>’ . __(‘Pages’) . ‘</h2>’);

so i had to delete the page as i dont want it show up in the header :-((
where is the problem??

u ll hav to edit ur sidebar.php located in ur theme folder.

okay okay, i have done it on my own. i edited single.php and got the result.

if u cant edit ur header file properly, then go for the rewrite-titles plugin. it ll automatically show only the postname as the page title in single pages,and the blogname as the page title in the homepage.

thanx. i was looking 4 something like this, now i can see only the postname in the title. good 4 seo.

i regenerated my pernalinks. nut prob persists. then i upgraded to 1.5.2. but that also dint help. then i uninstalled wp and reinstalled but still prob is not solved. ?? why does this happen? shud i delete and then upload my theme folder?
