Without hacking to the plugin a simple fix would be to set the widget images to
.widget-wrap .ict-content img { display: none; }via CSS, while it’s not the best fix as the images will still be loaded, it still shouldn’t effect page times as everything is loaded via AJAX anyways.

With the current version, 1.4.2, you should be able to simply add media to the content.

Have you tried using
$meta = unserialize( $meta );?This would convert that serialized array to an associative array.

It appears to me that the shortcode isn’t actually being triggered on that page, perhaps you have a page-template that is over-writing the page content for the supernatural page?
