Hi,
Hi,
– no, I haven’t added first and last name, because it’s a institution profile, none of them are needed (on the main site, when this thread started)
– you “think” UM uses username? OMG, how is it that “you” as support don’t know that???
– as you can see on the screencast, the first time you open the profile (user) page, it’s displayed correctly. If that was the case, the username was displayed first-hand. “I think” – as it would make sense.
– the editing option (more exactly “saving”) must trigger something that causes this bug
– again, what if I don’t need first/last name?
– lastly, the default profile of UM does NOT have first/last name (why should I use if I don’t need it)
– the last video was a clean install of both WP and UM. The plugin seems to be buggy itself. No settings were made, and it doesn’t work correctly. It’s not normal!
– if you made the effort to install a clean WP and UM with basic or no additional settings (as I did), you might see if for yourself. It happens on 4 sites now, can’t be coincidence, or server or php/css, whatever bug, since the last video is a clean install.Regards
GabeDear @missveronicatv
Please check the screencast video, and if any solution you may find, please, let me know.
Thank you

FYI The dev’s website does not offer support ticket (for the free plugin) on their website. The free plugin support is redirected here. As for “Period”… I can’t do anything else, if we have a never-ending conversation. Period. As you can see the previous message was moderated. Please let’s find a way that you can log in to this testing site (which credentials were removed, understandably.)
Thank you
GabeOMG. This is … not helping… never mind… I’m getting so tired of this. It’s just unbelievable that having now 4 sites with the same problem.
I still don’t understand if, for instance, WooCommerce was to be deleted, and left CSS or javascript, what is to do with UM? What if I don’t need WooCommerce, and delete that plugin, or any other theme? And the video WAS with the default Theme, Twenty-twenty-one.
At this stage, support would have asked for login credentials to check what is going on, since we, users, cannot figure it out.

Thanks

Hi,
I installed it, it’s running, everything seems to be just fine. No red button ( “Warnings()” or “Notices()” ). I don’t understand what the purpose of this was, though, and still don’t understand where we are going with this. I bet it is not PHP error site-wise.
Any other solution? Because it leads nowhere, I’m sorry.
It must be the plugin because now it’s getting a little bit frustrating for me, and I installed a clean WP site on one of our servers (same SiteGround configuration). Nothing is on there, just a WP installation with UM installed (https://raidproject.taipan.hu/)
I do not want to install any other plugin to check if there are other problems, because the UM plugin must be buggy as the site is empty, you can see that I just installed it.

Gabeusing Elementor Hello theme, but the Troubleshoot mode automatically sets the theme to the default WP theme 2021.
Same result (as in the video, troubleshooting mode)
GOK, but that makes no sense, sorry to say that.
The (display) name will be grammatically incorrect, even if it was working, it still doesn’t work. (It is a name of an institution, btw.)– set the PHP back, and
– deleted the spaces in the name (which cannot be left this way, even if it was working)G
took a screencast:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U0wepIIx_tPX2x7PyFi60PM0I3_HZzAq/view?usp=sharingBelieve me, I deleted everything, server-side (flushed cache), browser cache, cookies.
Why would a clean installation that I sent 1:20 hrs ago (screencast) have this bug, too?
G
Hate to say that but with v8.0.14 it’s still not working. Are you sure it’s PHP-related, though?
Gabe
Tried, but the same results, unfortunately, moreover an inactive plugin sent an error msg saying I need PHP v7.4 or newer “please update” (which currently I don’t use, but may run into the same problem later with other plugins).
So, unfortunately, it still doesn’t work.

Hi there,
the caching plugin is NOT active on the staging site (you can see NO LiteSpeed cache icon in the admin bar in the video I previously sent), and even if I reactivate the plugin and exclude the pages in the settings, it still rewrites the display name.
Now I tested the site on a different server(ceosz.taipan.hu; no caching plugins at all)
– completely deleted the UM plugin, reinstalled it
– didn’t change anything (profile form or so)
– diactivated all the other unnecessary plugins to see whether some might be incompatible…
The problem still exists.screencast video:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/19cmI086TIKCKxCjLe0VA6oRxw6iY94dO/view?usp=sharingSeems to be a stubborn bug (at least for me)
Thanks for your help
Kind regards

Hi there,
thanks for your response.
What kind of “customization” do you mean? I used – if that considers “customization” – the sorting/filtering, and the member directories.
As for the profile builder, I had to add some additional fields from the list (text fields, text boxes), but not hooks or so.I just checked the Hooks documentation on your site, but I’m not a developer, I wouldn’t touch anything at a code level (I have some knowledge to use PHP, but that is used in Code Snippets for safety reasons).
So, basically, I didn’t customize with UM hooks.
FYI, I just clean installed it on a different test site. Same bug with the default settings (profile form, etc.)
Thanks
Kind regards
Gabe
