Are you sure, that your listing with fixes is complete?
I had a problem with my WP2.5.1 multimedia-uploader when I used it at work. At home everything everything was fine. The problem on some computer-systems was: after WP crunched all the uploads and I clicked on “Insert image” or “Insert gallery” there was only a white box.
I found a fix for that problem in a german forum. It’s a change in the file /wp-admin/js/media-upload.js . Here is the code (the old values are commented out):/* var win = window.opener ? window.opener : window.dialogArguments; if ( !win ) win = top; */ var win = parent;
Perhaps it’s a dirty trick, but for me it worked!

In reply to: WP 2.5.1 interface inefficientAnd if you can’t wait for the next generations of WP, you can use a plugin.
I used a plugin (adminimize) of F. Bueltge to costumize the edit-panel and I’m really happy with it now! The plugin is a synthesis of several ideas of different developers with some adjustments and extension of Frank. Screenshot-Example.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Add / insert media – follow KISS-principleThank you for the quick answer! I removed all files of the /wp-content/uploads/js_cache directory. Now I am eager to find out what awaits me next week at work!

In reply to: Add / insert media – follow KISS-principleLet me try to describe my problem with ‘add media’ (my English is very poor, sorry!) at work.
The problem isn’t the upload of a single image. This works. But if you try to insert the image, there is only a white box and nothing happens.
I also noticed today, that the browser (FF2.x and IE7) are all the time busy with loading the write-panel-page.
At home, I have no problems. Why I mention KISS? Because for me it isn’t the question how pretty the insert-image-procedure is, I have to teach my colleagues how to insert images into their articles. And I have to do this on the damned network where I work. With WP older than 2.5 I had no problems with that. I admit, the new procedure is prettier, but the old one worked, even with our strange network. So I would like to have a bullet-proof add-media-feature, working without Java-Script, AJAX, … .
To make the thing more pretty, you can extend it with plugins!Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: WP 2.5 Write Panel UsabilityI found a really nice plugin (Adminimize) to customize the write panel. It is written by Eric Meyer and extended by Frank Bueltge.
Look at
https://meyerweb.com/eric/thoughts/2008/05/27/wordpress-adminimize-and-latest-tweet-plugins/#comments(His English is not much better than mine ?? but the plugin is nearly what I want.) Probably it will be extended with WP 2.6, read (in German):
https://bueltge.de/wordpress-admin-theme-adminimize/674/#more-674You can test it without any risks. Simply remove the thing from the plugin-directory if you don’t like it.

In reply to: WP 2.5 Write Panel UsabilityI want to bring back the write panel usablity-topic back to the top.
Since I changed to WP 2.5.x I noticed, that some people who used the blog a lot, stopped writing. I asked one of them for the reason and got the answer, that he was confused by the new write panel.
Dear wp-developers, please make it possible to configure the write panel. To dream a little: it would be great having a write panel with movable modules. Perhaps you know Moodle, something like that.
I don’t want to loose any of my blog-authors, even if they are “computer-handicapped”.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: WP 2.5.x is a bit of a “down”-grade… no?With some changes – the movement of the category-field for example – I’m not very happy too. But I must express my admiration, that this great software is for free and the tempo of developpment is really amazing!
I’m delighted of the new gallery-feature combined with the Cleaner Gallery-Plugin and the thickbox-support. I love it!Forum: Requests and Feedback

In reply to: WP 2.5 Write Panel UsabilityHi jabecker,
your ideas to improve the wp2.5.1 write-panel are great, so I tried to implement your modified files. Unfortunately the result was not so nice. Perhaps the reason is the german language-version of WP2.5.1 I use.
