  • It looks like the instructions for resetting the Permalinks was sent to you in response to the ticket. Can you let me know if you’re still having trouble or if that has helped to resolve the issue?

It sounds like you have either a Deluxe or higher hosting plan.

In that case, you can add multiple domains to the account, which you may have already done. https://go.me/kl

Each domain designates a folder as its own root. When you install WordPress into each of those domains’ folders, you’ll still just specify the domain itself and leave the directory field empty. Once you’ve installed it, you should be able to restore the database for the installation and it should appear as a standalone site.

If I’m understanding your question correctly, you may already have this set up properly and the links are broken when you change your site address. Resetting the permalinks (disable/re-enable) could solve the issue with the broken links.

If you have a ticket with support that I can review, please feel free to post it here.

I agree with Seacoast Web Design.

You’ll want to use Linux hosting for any WordPress/PHP site.

You can use Windows IIS 7, but you won’t get the best results.

We’ve found that overall, PHP sites perform much better in the Linux environment. The only reason you’d want to keep Windows would be if you’re going to use a launguage requiring it such as ASP or ASP.NET. Otherwise, there’s no reason to sacrifice the performance of your WordPress site.

Also, it’s an easy change: https://go.me/changeos has the instructions.

    lewissn,

I’m sorry for any delays in responding to your ticket. It looks like our support team was able to help you resolve the issue. Are you able to upload files using a new directory folder?

If you’re still having issues, I’d be happy to look into it. If it’s the same site you referenced in other posts, I do see it coming up at this time, but anytime you have an issue feel free to give us a shout. If you submit the information in a ticket here: https://x.co/heretohelp and reply to this thread with your ticket number, I can check it out for you.

If you’re pointing your domain to your hosting provider’s nameservers, you can check with them on how to create a subdomain from the hosting account.

If you want to create the subdomain at the domain level and point it to the IP address (https://go.me/hK)

If you’d like to provide the domain name itself, it might be easier to see what you’re doing specifically. If you aren’t comfortable posting it publicly, you can send it with details in a ticket here: https://x.co/heretohelp and reply back with your ticket number and I can have it looked at from there.

I looked a the site and it does look good as far as the content itself and it’s loading quickly, but sounds like you’re still experiencing some latency at your end. We could definitely look into that for you and see if there’s anything we can do from this end. Go ahead and submit a ticket for our Hosting team here: https://x.co/heretohelp

Include any details and times (if you have them) where you’re seeing the latency and we’ll investigate and see what we can find.

    Chris,

It looks like the site is putting the posts in order correctly on the website, but I see what you mean on the mobile site.

Have you tried changing the theme to see if it makes a difference. It may be that there’s an issue with the theme and mobile that’s throwing it out of whack. That would be the first thing I’d recommend checking.

What were you using to overwrite it?

Are you able to delete the file and upload it as new?

As it isn’t WordPress related, I’d be inclined to want to take this out of this forum and send the specifics to me in an email to [email protected] so we can take a closer look at that file and the errors.

Just let me know the ticket number and we’ll go from there.

    That is not normal.

I talked with my hosting team and it appears there was an issue with the permissions and possibly a failed install of WordPress MU. We were able to correct the permissions, but we recommend that you back up your database and re-install just to be sure everything is fresh and installed properly.

If you need assistance with backing up the database we offer this additional information here: https://go.me/fc

    heddo,

Can you please take a look at the site now? I believe I’ve gotten the issues corrected. We’ve closed out your last ticket since I’m letting you know here, but please contact us anytime if you have additional questions. We do try to respond to the forums as quickly as we can and again, I’m sorry for the delayed response.

    heddo,

First, please accept my apologies for the delayed response. I am looking into this. I do show that you’ve been working with support regarding moving to our Web Hosting. I show the latest ticket update from yesterday. I’m not sure where you are in following those instructions we sent, but I wanted to make sure you know that I’ve seen your messages and am looking into this now for you.

    heddo,

I’d love to help. Sounds like you’ve been working with support and we haven’t been able to provide a solid solution for you.

In order to look into this I need to know the domain. If you aren’t comfortable posting it publicly, please let me know one of the ticket numbers relating to your previous service requests and I will review it and see what I can find out for you.

    drs248,

I can ask our site security team to take a look at it if I know the site in question. Can you post a link to it here or send an email request to our Support team and post the Incident ID for your support ticket? If you do post a reply here, it would also be helpful if you sent a tweet or posted to our Facebook wall to let us know. That way we’re more likely to see it right away.

Also, as a general rule of thumb, I’ll let you know immediately that you should be changing any password associated with your hosting account and your WordPress site.

… and take a look at this help article that explains how you can restore old files in your Go Daddy hosting account – https://x.co/zHVf
Depending on the depth of the hack, it MAY be enough to just do this file restoration. However, depending on other factors, you may also need to restore your database to the same date, and if you don’t have your own database backup, you’d need to ask us to take care of that for you.

    Alon

It looks like our Support Team replied to your ticket recently. If the response you received does not fully resolve your issue, please reply to the email with what remains unresolved. This way the ticket will be reopened and our technicians can continue to assist.

    Thank you,

    Jeremi
